Is VAR available in the group stages?

edit: yes. I don't see how the **** Napoli's penalty is a penalty.

Plenty of empty seats near me at PP if anyone fancies watching the third tier (still feels good to say that)

Also Dan, what levels were you looking for? Appreciate you may want it to be a reasonable standard but there are a stack of conference/conference south clubs in and around London. Not something I ever want to relive, but there's a real charm in non-league football. Just a thought.
I guess I was predominantly keen to see something of a higher standard than what I could see domestically (not sure where the A League would line up in a comparison, but it's sure as hell below the Championship). Somehow getting into the Chelsea-Liverpool game would have been ****ing awesome, but alas that ain't how football works.

That being said, non-league football could definitely be it's own cool experience.

How much are you willing to spend lad?

If you really really want to see a game, tickets usually can be sometimes acquired (totally legitimately) through re-seller websites like ticketmaster and so on.

They do tend to cost an arm and a leg though.

That is tragic. Although you can’t live your own life on a “worse things happen at sea” basis as though your own lesser problems don’t matter, it’s sometimes good to count your blessings.

Why not?

Robertson hung out a leg. As is the norm in modern football, the Napoli attacker chose to fall into it (initiate contact), went down, and because there was contact between the 2 players the ref gave a penalty.

It happens every weekend, all around the world. Very soft, the attacker looked for it, but in the modern game it's given as a penalty.

I see it from one angle and it looks like a dive, but I see it from another angle and think Robertson cuts him off to the point where Callejon has no obligation to try to bend his run around him. I'd happily place it in the "gets given sometimes so don't make that tackle" box if VAR hadn't abolished all grey areas from the rules.

IIRC the word in the summer was that paying him off would cost about £30m. Might have been a choice between replacing him and signing Tierney.
His contract only runs until the end of this season, so if that's true then it's another wonderful parting gift from Ivan the Bald.
