Almost 100% yes. Red Bull is not some gimmicky pop-up, they're one of the biggest companies in the world. Is that a bad thing for an unfancied club to rise through the ranks? Were they outspending their rivals by a huge amount while doing so?
Nothing better than turning a match around against a ****-housery team, then watch blokes that have moved like snails and spent half the match writhing in agony over nothing tackles suddenly rushing around like hyperactive toddlers. One of the great joys of football. We generally just lose to them though, as seen in the Play-off final, oh no I'm not bitter...Pretty funny watching Simeone get pissed at leipzig's time wasting and diving at the end.
Yeah, saying they were bought out was simplifying it a bit. Clubs that low down in Germany just don't rise up without astronomical amounts of cash thrown at them. It's worse than that. They weren't even bought out by Red Bull. Instead Red Bull literally created the club from scratch!
I think People have an hipster love of the Bundesliga, so they get a bit over-excited about Leipzig's awfulness. I mean far from me to be against fan Ownership, but at the top of the game it does kinda mean inevitably the best supported teams will win, and no-one wants that in England.Hating Leipzig in the Champions League doesn't make a lot of sense. German fans hate them because they think they undermine the system of clubs being fan-owned, but in a European context, being a promotional vehicle for a drinks company is one of the less concerning ownership models.
Atletico's owner was convicted of embezzlement for taking over the club but kept hold of it through some kind of statute of limitations loophole. People supporting them against RB because they have a problem with the way RB is run are just a bit strange imo.
I'd like them to win a CL at some stage, but Atletico are a lot worse to watch than they used to be. They used to play with a kind of deranged intensity but now they just look like a recent Mourinho team. Not even good at shithousing any more, just the 12 fouls yesterday, pathetic.Yeah they are nowhere near the top of the most evil list.
I have always enjoyed Atletico in a pantomime kind of way so wanted them to win yesterday but that had nothing to do with RB.
I don't think it's a disaster if the best supported teams win, but in Germany the best supported team wins. In that sense it's probably the worst league to have a fan-onwership model. It would be better for competitive balance if someone could do a City.I think People have an hipster love of the Bundesliga, so they get a bit over-excited about Leipzig's awfulness. That's a surpriseI don't think it's a disaster if the best supported teams win, but in Germany the best supported team wins. In that sense it's probably the worst league to have a fan-onwership model. It would be better for competitive balance if someone could do a City.
But competitive balance isn't everything, the system is still miles better than the ****ing mess we have in England where a Chinese billionaire can bet on a team getting relegated then buy them out and call in administrators.
fair, but you see the point. Having a massive gap after the 4th or 5th club isn't anywhere near as big a problem as a massive gap after the 1st. The Miguel Delaney complaint is like "it's ****ing boring, the EXACT SAME 12 teams win the Champions League every year! Except in the years when they don't."That's a surprise
Yeah, obviously it is a cool system, but I don't really think Leipzig is going to break it, anytime soon.
Yeah definitely not what they were. The original title winning side was the best but there was also that incredible semi-final win over Bayern a couple of years later.I'd like them to win a CL at some stage, but Atletico are a lot worse to watch than they used to be. They used to play with a kind of deranged intensity but now they just look like a recent Mourinho team. Not even good at ****housing any more, just the 12 fouls yesterday, pathetic.
Haha I was gonna say this. He can get in line.Laporte doesn't even have any France caps yet.
**** Miguel Delaney. Absolute ****.fair, but you see the point. Having a massive gap after the 4th or 5th club isn't anywhere near as big a problem as a massive gap after the 1st. Turn your rage into automatic promotion next season and all will be wellNothing better than turning a match around against a ****-housery team, then watch blokes that have moved like snails and spent half the match writhing in agony over nothing tackles suddenly rushing around like hyperactive toddlers. Trust me, hatred against shithousery will always be there, despite promotion, but admittedly hypocrisy, if we indulge in it, will also be always there.Turn your rage into automatic promotion next season and all will be well
Also a belated shout out to Kemar Roofe on joining forces with Stevie G. at Rangers
Agree, think it’s an excellent signing from Arteta. Hope he gets given the requisite time at Arsenal if things don’t start too well for him next season. So Willian a done deal for Arsenal then, very good signing that. I think Fat Frank may regret letting him leave.
