Say what?Watford sacking Pearson is odd even by their standards.
Don’t agree, he still makes lots of saves no other keeper would make, kept us in the game against Palace. He’s about league average imo.But yeah he's just consistently dreadful now. The howlers are piling up with alarming regularity.
I think this is mostly an illusion. Keepers that make mistakes feel like they’re much worse than the solid unspectacular types, but logically one goal prevented cancels out one goal thrown in.Not making howlers regularly is the best asset a goalkeeper can have though. It's like late career Casillas. He could still pull off the odd outrageous save but when he's throwing the ball into his own net twice a month, his value became very questionable.
Slightly cruel, but he is a liability sadly at the moment. He was poor towards the end when it came to champions league qualifications and the clangers have really piled up this season. But yeah he's just consistently dreadful now. The howlers are piling up with alarming regularity.
I wouldn't be surprised if something had happened behind the scenes that made his position untenable.Watford sacking Pearson is odd even by their standards.
Ha, if one was compiling a list of "managers most likely to smack a player upside the head" Pearson would be #1, so it's all too believable.Word on the street is that Pearson was sacked for punching a player.
Brian Clough is said to have punched Nigel Jemson and, hard to believe, Roy Keane.Ha, if one was compiling a list of "managers most likely to smack a player upside the head" Pearson would be #1, so it's all too believable.
Probably have Colin as #2, despite his advancing years.
