Won't be August, they will wait for September as it will be closer to the time they are allowed fans in and I would imagine there won't be midweek matches until fans can go so the clubs benefit financially.

SPOTY betting lads,,,Rashford 11/4 out their,,,,surely if nominated he wins it?

Not exactly a stellar sporting year, only Fury has done ought the Joe Public would know about knocking Wilder out in February.

Boris has said October. Given the amount of clubs that voted to end the season because they couldn't afford to finish it, I'll assume these same clubs can't afford to start it until fans are back.

Otherwise it will just look like they voted for convenience and I couldn't believe that 8-)
Honestly do you really believe that financially it was remotely sane to play with no revenue streams coming in. Look I understand your belief that things should be void, but SEP/October is a long way off, and as they say they are thinking of ways to get fans in, setting up viewing events, and getting ways to watch online in this country, none of this could be set up overnight. The 2 metre to 1 meter thing will be a massive difference, particularly in setting up viewing events.

Teams were able to furlough, which probably kept many going, playing would have been suicide for many clubs.

If I was a betting man, I'd bet against the event taking place this year.

If I'm wrong, I don't see that Rashford should be nominated for something that's nothing whatsoever to do with sport.

Why not, the way the year has gone it would be fitting, better than winning for being royal.

It'll go ahead, blimey the Beeb will be happy to fill a few hours of telly by then, with nothing in production, that or the 5000th repeat of Dads Army on primetime.

Surely you're too young to remember Princess Anne winning it?

I know she did though, but I can remember her daughter winning. For reference someone won the World-Eventing Championship a couple of years ago, same as Zara, better than Anne who I think just won Burghley, didn't make the shortlist. Around the same time as Anne, bloke won two Lolympic golds at the same event, didn't make top 3.

So how many goals Rashford scored for United, is more deserving IMHO, and there's Giggs one for being old. Bit like Captain Tom come to think of it.

Yup, can't argue with that. I can confirm what you wrote about Anne, as I just looked it up. Seems extraordinary now, and probably seemed extraordinary then.

It's thankfully a sign that in this one regard at least the country has improved a little, the way royalty was fawned over up until probably the 90s was ridiculous, yes Zara shouldn't have won it either, but she was at least world champion in a shite year. Darren Clarke should have won it though.

The Queen is still revered, but not sure anyone else has anything like that kind of tug forelock thing. Even William tries to put himself out there as man-of-the-people. Charles is partly hated for being a hippy, and cheating on the blessed saintly Princess of our hearts:sick:

Oh and there's Andrew....

Even if we’d had a full intended summer of sport Tyson Fury would be a worthy winner. Making Boris do a u-turn is barely an achievement anymore, never mind a sporting one.

Yeah, but he's Tyson Fury.

Got to admit I am a little conflicted about Brentford, luckily enough what I want will be totally immaterial to what's going to happen.
