Yeah, looks ominous for them. Newcastle in a bit of bother as well, but they have had a tough run of games to start with, so I should imagine they will be alright once they grind out a few wins.

The boring style Newcastle play must make for dreary experiences for their season ticket holders. That said, they seem to like Benitez, if just in a way that Huddersfield would appreciate it if Lionel Messi decided his sole mission in life was to keep them in the Premier League.

On the opposite side of the spectrum of boredom, Bournemouth have started well considering this time last year, they were struggling heavily. Their style of play is admirable and it could result in a top half finish this season.

Rafa is great tbf. And Newcastle are plagued by having owners who do not want to put much money in, which probably also contributes to their turgidness.

Indeed, he just doesn't need to play four holding midfielders.

Haha, yes, not the easiest thing on the eye. On an unrelated note, how is CDM doing lad? Since I binned FB I have lost contact with him.

Yeah, he's fine. He's doing well on the UK wrestling circuit. I've been trying to get him to post and he read through the Moeen racism thread last night. His wrestling character is amusing because it's the complete opposite of him.

CDM/andmark genuinely being two of the very few forumers I sometimes wonder what they are up to/how they are getting on. Great to see one of you back and the other doing well

Thanks, we both feel likewise :)

Unlike you I won't pretend it didn't happen for 3 weeks and hope things turn around so I can bring it up again. Cowardly.

In any case, Spurs have looked pretty average but I'd back them to improve as a team over United, who have such massive deficiencies in defence that I'm not sure they could significantly improve before January.

TBF my post wasn't about United being any good. I think I probably have a lower opinion of our team than you do. When I watch us I often think we'll be doing well to get top six.

OTOH when I watch Spurs and Arsenal I start to think 4th might be a realistic possibility, if not exactly likely. Kane is completely broken.

Watching City Liverpool and Chelsea is just depressing.

Kevin Beattie has died from a heart attack; only in his early 60s. Some of us will remember him from his prime in the 1970s. Fine player.
