Are you trolling?West Brom-Arsenal game was brutal in terms of quality. This period is always busy in England, but it feels like the schedule has been even more tightly packed than usual this year, and there are so many injuries and suspensions and lots of terrible football. Think it might be better to give the players a week's break.
Is when you are getting points, if you are in a bad run it is a nightmare. We have 7 points from the 3 games so far so a win today will be a brilliant christmas run and a draw a very good one. Need the win to keep the pressure on Wigan and Blackburn though. Are you trolling?
This is the best football time of the year.
Yeah, 3 week shutdown.Do you still have a couple of week break up there?
Yeah but you play an utterly insane amount of games in England. 46 league games, plus possibly playoffs and 2 or 3 Cup competitions is nuts.Wouldn’t work here, at least Championship and below. Hard enough to fit the games in.
We were Tuesday-Sat pretty much for the last three months last season. Granted our early exit from the Trophy should avoid that happening this season.
Yeah, my lot have already played 25 league games and 8 cup matches and have 21 league games without the playoffs left and next week we have West Ham on Sunday in the Fa Cup 3rd round and Blackpool in the quarters of the Checkatrade. Could do with losing at least one of them even if they are great for momentum.Yeah but you play an utterly insane amount of games in England. 46 league games, plus possibly playoffs and 2 or 3 Cup competitions is nuts.
For the Premier League, cutting out FA Cup replays and moving the 4th, 5th and 6th rounds of the FA Cup to midweek games could allow a winter shutdown for a couple of weeks post Christmas.
Yeah Boxing day is great, we got messed about with playing in the evening this year but it was still great, don't really feel the same way about New Year football though.Yeah it’s rough if you’re in a rut, but as a fan it’s great having a flurry of games. Boxing Day football in particular is one of my favourite traditions. Last year was rubbish with Xmas falling at the weekend, don’t think we had games scheduled in between Boxing Day and NYD.
As for the gap to Macc - not as far as it looks. We’ve got a winnable game in hand and they’ve still got to come to us. Plus they have a history of falling away after Christmas. Tough fixture for us today though. First game I’ve missed in a while and I’m miffed.
If we win today I think we’ll do it.
Never heard of themWho the **** are AFC Fylde btw?
