I can’t believe anyone who’s watched a lot of football could think that was anything other than a blatant dive. If whatever panel are adjudicating don’t have the guts to enforce the new ban punishment they might as well abandon the rule here and now.

Yeah. I think he knows he's losing his balance and is trying to get a touch on the ball before falling so he has a chance of getting the pen. Like I don't think he could have stayed on his feet had he wanted to, but he was definitely looking for it, so it is still sort of a dive I guess. Who knows if they'll ban him, unlikely imo.

What they really needed to do instead was start giving fouls when the player doesn't go down.

Stopped watching MOTD after the city game because IMO the season is over. Just hand the title to KDB and give his teammates some medals for supporting him.
