I'm starting to subscribe big time to Klopp's 'make sure you run more than the opposition' mantra, which just makes Rooney completely unsuited to how I think the game should be played.

Should give Zlatan the captaincy.

If Jose Mourinho and Manchester United fans were hoping that dropping Wayne Rooney would wave some sort of magic wand and transform their play overnight, they have been disappointed so far. It's Leicester who look the more dangerous, the more dynamic, the more urgent.
43 mins Manchester United 4-0 Leicester

I look forward to your video.
Come on, Henry's goal against Liverpool in 2004 (probably the most vital goal of the season as well as being pretty special) only being 19th is a nonsense. That one is easily top 5.

List's full of the sort of goals I don't like being in these lists (35 yarders) which is a matter of taste, but some of the best goals ever scored by Wenger's Arsenal are just all over the place.

Yes these days everything is so well drilled that having that extra man supporting attack or defence to find or limit space is huge. Rarely are you going to get one special player running through a team or hitting one killer ball that leads directly to a goal. You need a combination of good things to happen.

That was what is so obvious when I've seen Rooney play and England generally. England are amazing at having one or two midfielders constantly come back into defence to take the ball and pass it sideways because everyone is marked, or against Slovakia and Iceland they would regularly have 3 or 4 just stand still with a defender. Rooney is different gravy at consistently being 20-30 yards on the unhelpful side of play (too advanced on defence or too deep on attack).

Bring back Wayne, bring back Wayne, let's start the campaign folks, the second half United lost 1-0, only as good as your last half, as the old saying goes.

So is it safe to say that Liverpool are genuine title challengers this year? Look very impressive especially when you consider the quality of their opponents so far (7 points away to Chelsea, Spirs and Arsenal).

Not sure that anyone but Citeh are title challengers this year, always had the best squad now got the best manager, but we'll wait and see.

Edit, am watching Football Focus at H-T, and Lawro may just be an idiot often with crap jokes, but he makes sense a lot of time, saying Rooney deserved to be dropped, Dion Dublin saying it was a bad decision.

Someone should put everyone coming out in favour of Rooney on a blacklist. Any so called pundit who can't see he's been absolute shite deserves to permanently removed from the business of voicing their opinion on the game.

I'm just consoling myself with thinking that City haven't played anyone decent yet.

Liverpool's key will be not doing stupid **** like losing 2-0 to Burnley.
