One wonders if he will play for Arsenal again. Sounds like he will be out for much of what is left of the season. Contract up in the summer too, by which time he will be 32.

I wonder how good his career would have been if someone had realised sooner what he can do from deep. Seems to have landed there just as his legs were going, but from his performances when fit it really looks like he could have gone down the Pirlo/Modric route.

It would've been really weird to do it then though. Ramsey and Cazorla were arguably your two best-performing players and it would have displaced both.

Cazorla's stats have always profiled as a great CM, even when he was in Spain and in the first couple of seasons at Arsenal, so there's definitely a good argument it could've happened earlier, from his point of view.
