I guess after the way your season started, even being there was something to be proud of. Still, as I learned the hard way it's a **** place to go and lose. Onwards and upwards etc

I'm home and so incredibly drunk I may just die of alcohol poisoning which TBH would just top up the day.

Well without rubbing salt into the wound the conference play-off loss was so monumental, this just feels slightly small in comparison.

Oh don't get me wrong I wanted to win, I wanted to win desperately, we're a club that doesn't win much the promotion would have been orgasmic, it's what we support teams for, yet on the long train journey afterwards you think, well what can Exeter City achieve/hope for. We're building a new stand next year this takes our capacity upto about 8.600, are we going to be a Championship side with that?

No we'll be a yo-yo club between Division 3 and 4, as long as we're not in the ****ing conference it's not a disaster, which is why the Morecambe loss meant tons more than this, and the Cambridge win meant tons more than beating Blackpool would have done.

Again though just so it's not ambiguous would really have buzzed on a win, and am quite down now.

Yeah I completely get you. Another year of teams bringing 17 fans to Prenton Park, of visiting the sort of grounds we used to find a novelty in pre season, of part-timers nicking an early goal and proceeding to time waste for 70 minutes. It's the worst. If and when we get up, I'll be hoping to look upwards but can't imagine the same level of despair about any other failure.

Some defeats definitely leave an irrational scar. We (Plymouth) spent all but the first month of this season looking nailed on for promotion, yet I didn't enjoy a single second of it until promotion was assured as I was on a permanent downer from last years play-off final.

What a weird time to be a Blackpool fan.
Spoke to my dad last night and we both agreed they will struggle next season unless they get some good loans in. The owners won't put the money in to compete at the higher level so they will probably go down. They counted as the first side we reckon Salop will definitely finish above.

We thought Exeter would have done better above, more good young players but some of them will probably be sold now. Least they get good money for them usually so will again.

So who should I be supporting tonight? Leaning towards Huddersfield unless convinced otherwise.
