*Official* English Football Season 2015-16

England have now dropped to 4th in the provisional UEFA rankings, meaning a Champions League place will be lost from 2017/18.

Bad news for Arsenal, basically. They can hardly complain though, I suppose. Since they wouldn't be in this mess if they had actually got their ****ing fingers out and not repeatedly failed in Europe over the last god knows how many years.

Yeah my understanding is that England have actually gained on Italy this week/season so far. They even did on Tuesday because of Roma's loss (cheers Woj).

Have to admit I don't really give a **** at the moment mind. Pretty fed up with Arsenal's Champions League efforts recently.

They have a higher % of teams out though, so any points they earn from now on are discounted more heavily. That's badly explained but **** it, it's Friday afternoon.

Re: your tweet, my Arse-United combined XI: DDG, Darmian, Smalling, Kosc, Shaw, Schweinsteiger, Ramsey, Mata, Ozil, Sanchez... and... Martial, I guess. This should maybe make me rethink my opinion that Arse have the better players, but then I also think Sanchez is better than all other players on both sides by miles.

I think Arsenal have the better individual attacking players, which is probably more important than individual defensive players. United have a pretty good system and defensive organisation mind, so it's not really a weakness for them either.

Worth noting before deadline day you wouldn't of expected either DDG or Martial, so that would've probably been two extra ones for Arsenal tipping it to 6-5. That was definitely a good day for you as far as quality this season goes, even if it wasn't great news financially. I still don't really know how good Martial is at the moment mind. Have never watched a whole game with a main focus on him. Would be amazed if Walcott scores less than him this season though.

It is between those two I think. Not much to go on but Martial has close control and agility that Walcott never really did. I think right now you would just have to pick him. But I do really rate Walcott. Makes great runs.

Yeah had pretty much full season's in 11-12 and 12-13. Scored 21 and assisted 16 in the latter, mostly playing on the right.

(re. Walcott) Played the whole of autumn in 2013 I believe
:)

Still waiting for Theo to fulfill early potential, aren't we. Maybe because he & his boss still haven't decided where he should be playing. Looks like being one of those players with a great future behind him before too long, which would be a shame as I really rated him a few years ago.

Meanwhile, this is one of those fixtures that Palace tend to mess up, being at home to WBA. We're not going to hit them on the break at home, and they are usually good for a set piece or two when they do get in our half. If memory serves, we lost this one 0-2 last season. Obviously I'm still grateful to Pulis for his efforts a couple of seasons back, but he's not a welcome visitor now.

EDIT
And then we canter to an easy 2-0 win with Zaha apparently outstanding. Presumably Pulis will sort out WBA before long, but they sounded dire today.
Such a shame about those last minute losses to Man City and Spurs, as I think we'd briefly be top otherwise. But still good times.

Bit of a stretch to say the loss vs. Spurs was last minute. Son scored at around the 70th minute mark.

Just the five for Aguero in the last 20 minutes then.

Though it wouldn't surprise me if he's scored again in the time it's taken me to write this.

If Palace keep this up any longer you won't even have any right to be a pessimistic bastard anymore :p
8-)

It's all very worrying. Usually our spells in the Premier League have gone pear shaped long before now, so I have no idea what's going on out there nowadays.

Good week to have Aguero as captain in fantasy football.

Edit: Which a quick look at the CW table suggests nearly everyone did, haha.
