I suppose the 4th CL spot might matter more to me if I supported a team that might conceivably benefit from it. As it is, I just see it as a natural consequence of our richer clubs' failings in recent years, so who cares really. Granted I'd feel differently if I supported one of the better clubs.

I was having an old gits conversation yesterday about how far back we go to find a more unexpected top flight winner as Leicester, if they do go on and win the thing. It ended up being a contest between the current gap between the haves and have nots nowadays versus Notts Forest winning it having just been promoted in 3rd place from the old second division. The latter is kind of taken for granted nowadays because Clough was managing them, but no-one gave them a prayer at the start of the season. Villa in 1981 also with a mention, but at least they'd been in the top flight the previous few years.

When Liverpool snatched a last gasp draw at home to West Brom, Klopp had them all link arms/hold hands and wave towards/thank the fans.

I remember when this match mattered to people.
Haha, I was just thinking this.

Wasn't actually aware the game was on until it was advertised during the Arsenal game. My first thoughts was "ah yeah, gun". But then I actually thought about the state of both teams these days and realised I cbf. Choosing to spend the afternoon doing marking instead.

Great goal from Lingard but that's probably the end of our top 4 challenge for the year. We've been so so poor when ahead this year. Not confident enough to open up and play keep-ball, and LVG doesn't set up to counter. We just end up sitting deep and relying on De Gea saving everything.

Mourinho looks a cert now.

Shearer was trying to compare it to Blackburn, but that's obviously rubbish as they just spent more than anyone else.Might as well say Chelsea or Citeh. As much as I hate to say it, but Leeds maybe the closest recently.

Did Leeds have a spell in Division 2 in the mid to late 80s or have I completely imagined that?
