True. I think what he is missing in the team is a Robben. Like with Holland he sets up defensively and then relies on a quick X factor to get goals. I think in his mind Di Maria was that but it didn't work. Now the defending isn't working because injuries have stripped the squad of defenders he trusts that know the system.

Merson is an utter ****, but he was amazing on Soccer AM showing his skills reminded you why he was called the Magic man, outperformed a decent current divison 4 player.

Thought he was still injured till I saw him in the bench. Saving him for Chelski maybe. He and Carrick is the best midfield pairing. Although it can be defensive the alternatives aren't better.
