I generally don't read football websites anymore, most of the formerly good ones have gotten buzzfeed-ish. I tend to stick to podcasts at this point. The Aussie one The World Game is still quite good, and I still find myself going to football365 even if the quality has seriously deteriorated since the glory days of 07-10.
Yeah I'm the same re: F365. Most sites have a mix of good and bad writers, and a lot of the best writers are freelance (like Cox, now that Zonal Marking hardly ever updates).

I like the guys with a sense of humour best, Jonathan Liew, Iain MacIntosh, Barney Ronay. Cox and Wilson are the two obvious to go to for tactics, although some of Wilson's stuff has obviously just been churned out for a deadline. Daniel Taylor, Miguel Delaney are great for a bit of insider gossip.

Gabrielle Marcotti & Jonathan Wilson are two of the best when talking general world football topics. Raf Hogeistein on German football, James Horncastle on Italian football, Tim Vickery on anything South American football.

Hard to say really. I suspect you might be right, but personally I don't think there's much to support this view other than gut feeling.

I remember the "badly advised" line being trotted out a fair bit over the years in conjunction with players like Rooney (even though both his transfer requests went nowhere) and Nasri for instance.
Fixed.

In other news, it's genuinely quite difficult not to get at least a little bit carried away with Martial.

BARNES OUT
I just don't get us in Europe. We just get absolutely trashed every game, no matter the quality of opposition or the location. Occasionally we'll play a blinder, but generally when we win we're very lucky to get anything and the rest of the time we just get roasted. Sevilla should be 3 goals in front by now, we've been genuinely atrocious, and yet again we're putting ourselves in an awful position in regards to getting out of the group.

Rooney is a waste of space, not only is he utterly washed up, he is basically leading the line when it should be Martial who is playing out of position to accomodate him. Its astonishing how blind LVG is to this guy.

Well we won, which was the only bright spot from an incredicly irritating day at my real work, and stewarding. Honestly dire performance from myself in both.

Fully expect Jose's next presser to announce that deBruyne's form proves him right, away from the officials vendetta against Chelsea, he's suddenly World-class.
