Yeah we all knew they were awful at the back and the only player they have got in is injured anyway. Need at least one centre half before the deadline and has to be a leader.
Problem with defenders, is if they're not used to the League, it can take them time to bed in. Vidic and Stam actually had poor starts to their United career. The two Arse central defenders were awful at first. It's just a different style of defending. So even if he makes those signings they could still be behind the eight-ball already.

He could have done with signing some midfielders. Beyond a joke that he hasn't done so so far.

Owen is a moron watch: calls Nani's tackle on Sigurdsson "fair" despite watching him blatantly leave the boot in on replay.

Rob Edwards leaves our two best midfielders from Tuesday on the bench

I'd have played them both but I like the fact he's his own man. Unfortunately our fans are a tediously impatient bunch who don't look at the bigger picture, I fear for the reaction if we lose today

I think the disparity between whiskey breath and the chosen one masked the true quality of the Man U squad. There is no way in hell they are as good as any of last year's top 4 even taking Suarez leaving yer scousers. One game isn't enough to judge them on, I just can't see now they can bridge that gap without making a few significant signings

Was hardly aware of the existence of Tyler Blackett & Jesse Lingard until about a month ago (think I recall hearing Blackett's name mentioned in passing as a sub at some point last year?). Are they good enough backups for a team aiming to qualify for the CL?

Are United going to score 100+ goals now?

Rather absurd run away from the argument there - The discussion was about the defensive frailties of both teams and top 4 bids. You could've won each game by one and still made the top 4 with 60-70 goals....

Anyway, can't wait for the new season to start next week

So, Swansea City top the Premiership as we speak!

Don't get many chances to say that.

At least i won't need to log in again this season.....

I love football.:D

Bad luck GIMH, must have thought that was game over.
I was waiting for the equaliser...the winner however I did not see coming

tbh our more negative fans will say this start is unacceptable bla. But they are probably two of our more difficult games out of the way now. Onwards and upwards and all that

3rd place looks a long way off after that performance for sure. Poor at the back I was expecting but the lack of pace and attacking threat wasn't. It's only 1 game but the squad isn't strong enough to cover any injuries or player resting. It's still unbalanced with too many 10s. Smalling, Young and Fellaini were as bad as I expected. Mata has good moments but doesn't seem to fit in with Rooney.

Why is Wilshere not being good enough for a place in Arsenal's full strength XI something people have to comment on? It's been known for a year now since Özil signed, yet people talk as if his place is suddenly in jeopardy.

Of course, it's all ****ing redundant with Arsenal (heard Gibbs did his hammy today, of course) because they'll never have a "full strength XI", but it still grates me.

And no, he's not a better option at ****ing DM than Arteta.

I actually like Sanago more than most but he's probably one of the strikers you'd want least against a side who sit back. Giroud needs to get his fitness levels/act together ASAP.

In terms of squad depth it's not looking bad when today saw no Mertesacker, Podolski, Rosicky, Ox, Walcott, Giroud or Özil in the starting lineup.

Couple of top notch signings and we're looking good for a proper run at the title.
