Sterling has never really recovered from playing 120 minutes against Middlesbrough in the League Cup on the Tuesday before the Saturday lunchtime Merseyside derby. :D If Hodgson had done anything that stupid Liverpool fans would have wanted his nuts on a skewer.:xmas:

Don't even know how it's a debate tbh. As a manager, don't you want to win the game? And as such, don't you want your players being honest about their physical condition? #openandshut
It's not really a thing that should really have hardly any discussion about. These International weeks are becoming hell. Without Prem/Champs League there's about 20-pages/space, the ***** in the newspapers/radio/web have to fill with bull****. First KP then this. Yet it happens everytime if you look back at it. It's really dire, but trust me it's why 'arry/KP/Keabe all chose this window to whack a book out. Must be known amongst publishers now.

Rio's came out last week too, be **** on by Keane's in the column inches though.

Seriously though, this Stirling thing is such a non issue, when Utd fans are sticking up for a Liverpool player you know the press are wrong.....

Rio's looks so bad. From the cover you would think it is some kind of Paul McKenna self-help book.

Everybody does this every season about Chelsea. I don't care how good they ****ing look, they've gotta prove it to me because they always start like a house on fire, everyone says they're gonna run away with it and then they **** it up. Make them prove it before crowning them.
So true. Personally I actually do think it's a bit different this time given they have for once actually solved the glaring weaknesses in their side from last season. But it has happened for roughly the last six or seven seasons where Chelsea would just be talked up as champions elect at the start of every season for no reason really.

I think last year you could argue the Chelsea hype was just the Mourinho love in, but how much their side has improved since the start of last season is ridiculous. Lampard-Ramires/whoever was a comparatively weak midfield paring and I'd argue only United's was poorer among the top seven. Now they've probably got the best one and I'd struggle to argue that anyone else in Europe has a better one. Costa for Torres/Eto'o is such an obvious upgrade it's scary. Courtois hasn't made a huge impression yet but I still think he's better than Cech, and if not will be soon. Then you've got the increased integration of the likes of Willian and Schürlle and it's hard to really point any holes in their squad. They've done it all without really using much of a net spend either, it makes me sick.

Hope I'm wrong obvs, but the early signs are pretty grim.

Yeah I was wrongly backing them to take the title for most of last season, but even so I think they'll win it this year. Not that it's a foregone conclusion or anything but they have the best first-team, squad and manager on paper and so far have been easily the best on the field as well.

If Aguero stays fit I still think City are as good. Is obviously between those two but I would not be willing to call it yet.

To use a wrestling adage, for me Sol was a A- player. The A+ players being Ayala, Stam, Maldini, and most significantly, Nesta.
Sorry to dig this up but where would everyone put the likes of Thuram and Desailly? Both absolute legends of the French game.

Aye, read a stat that Aguero has the best goals per minutes ratio in Premeirship history. Seriously is an animal.

Fun game: who's got the best minutes per assist ratio in Premiership history? (min: 9000 minutes)

When did they start doing assists? Beardsley may be a shout, even if the Prem wasn't his prime.

Ha, none of you will come close. The guy wasn't a complete flop, but no one would call him a success either. His performances waned and it helped he was part of a great team.

Edit: Actually the one I'm thinking of probably wouldn't qualify for 9000 minutes. Saw a list with a minimum of 20 assists.

Though the top line above still holds somewhat true for the guy it actually is.

Right club and position (winger) but wrong era. @cpr

But yeah to clarify the rankings are

1. Not a flop/not a success but part of a great team (best ratio with 20+ assists)
2. United winger. (Best ratio with 9000+ minutes)
3. Fabregas
