Morrison. :(

Both North London clubs slipping up this week.

Could have been 2 defeats as well had Anelka had finishing boots on.

Similar sort of organisation and display by West Ham and West Brom. West Ham probably more defensive than West Brom.

Both Spurs and Arsenal were too narrow.

Obviously a draw is less than optimal, but they do look a proper side this year, the Albion.

Yer Irons' win at Shyte Hart Lane puts a gloss on everything tho.

Spuds somehow conspiring to only concede two (or summat) before today has obscured the fact their defence is all kinds of gash. Vertonghen is the most overrated defender this side of Sideshow Shyte.

So did Kevin Nolan get an assist for that first goal? Just goes to show at times it's a pointless stat. probably should have been Downings:-O

Oh and what a talent Ravel is, but I guess we all knew that :(

He got an assist for the first but not the second, which is kind of funny.

Yeah pretty much. Keeper just kept bailing them out.

They're not all that flash going forward either. They're sort of very good at dominating the game but not much use at either end of the pitch.

Makes sense given their strength is in midfield

Disagree. Once Lamela and Soldado find form they've got plenty going forward.

Meanwhile, points based on last 38 league matches for each team. Manure sitting well top shows just how ridiculously strong the end of Ferguson's reign was:

Assume Redknapp has a book out or something with all the crap news stories.
Haha, I love how it's just more sour grapes about not getting the England job. Though conveniently, of course, he doesn't acknowledge the fact that one of the reasons why the FA didn't go for him may have been because they thought he was dead dodgy and could potentially be hauled up on another bung charge/dodgy deal at any moment.

I doubt they minded paying a bit over the odds for him either. They were badly lacking a really good striker, and he's undoubtedly a considerable upgrade on Adebayor and Defoe. He won't even need to hit his best to surpass what those two bring to a side.

Unless of course we're talking about Adebayor in the period immediately after he joins a new side, during which he magically becomes totally unplayable for a short while.

It does. It also shows that the Arsenal renaissance was under way well before the start of this season. Someone drew up a similar table for their last 25 games, which sounds a bit arbitrary, but that table had the Gunners top of the pile.

It also shows how effective Arsenal's defence has been imo. Despite the initial hysteria about how good it was at the beginning of last season, and then all the stick it got for being crap throughout the rest of the season, it's actually conceded remarkably few goals.

It's curious that this still gets singled out as being a weak part of the team in my opinion. You might argue that there's a lack of cover, or that it's just not that great, but it says a lot that it stands up so well against a lot of its supposed peers.

Soldado been really, really unimpressive so far. I'm quite sure he's gone through entire Spurs-dominated games without once touching the ball. Even if he finds a bit of form and gets 20-odd goals he'll only be as useful as Darren Bent, and of course he might not. Spurs look like they've overpaid.

I like the bit about getting played by some pisshead pretending to be a jockey for 3 years
