*Official* English Football Season 2013-14

Tom Halsey

International Coach
Honestly the past couple of weeks, assuming City don't blow it still, have almost made up for this season. That is definitely the funniest football match I can remember.

Like I said when Tyler started babbling on about goal difference, it was never going to matter unless Liverpool won about 8-0 tonight.

They were not going crazy for goals when Palace scored their first though, it was just a freak goal that changed everything.

Poor Liverpool. Before the game, I'd have happily seen them win by 6 against my lot as I'd like them to win it. Which is probably unfair to Man City, whose manager and players are as likeable as you could possibly expect at this level, but that's another matter. In the end though, you can't feel sorry for a team that can't defend a 3 goal lead in the last 15 minutes against a side who have managed as few goals from open play as Palace.

Reminds me a bit of Newcastle in 1996. Lovely side to watch, but lost a crucial game at home when they were flying and then had that 4-3 loss at Anfield, Obviously Rogers is way more tactically aware than Keegan. I think.

I think you could make the argument that defensively there isn't a great deal between them tbh.

Not all of them...

Best not get started to Clichy either.

Based on what?

It's pretty clear our defenders are just ****e at defending, simple as that. Need three quarters of a new back four to compete in Europe. Plus, Lucas spends half his time running on syrup and Gerrard still isn't fully used to that new role, defensively. Fully confident in Rodgers actually developing some form of defense over the Summer with a reasonable cash injection.
