Bent to Villa for 18m. Interesting. Bit of ego hurt and more money I think.
Sunderland asking for 20m+ aren't they? Seems a strange move, but Bent himself has handed in a transfer request, so if Sunderland can get that kind of money for a player who wants to leave then you'd have to call it a handy piece of business.

TBH I would of thought 18m would of been too much for Bent. In Italy they are doing it a little more smart IMO, usually a loan deal + plus a fee, with the right to buy with an additional fee on top. At least if the play flops they have a way to cut their losses without being burdened with a massive transfer fee etc.

Looks like Pienaar is virtually a done deal to Spurs now.

A good player and a good deal for the price (about 3m), but I would have thought that midfield was the last area that Spurs needed to strengthen.

Would be great if Villa signed Robbie Keane so they could go with strikers that were Young, Bent and Keane

It's been confirmed - Bent to Villa.

18 million up front, potentially rising to 24 million with add-ons.

And Liverpool have accepted a bid from Hoffenheim for Babel, believed to be 7 million Euro (5.8m pounds).

Suarez on his way?

Bent's alright. Better than Marcus and he cops stick in the press because he fell out with 'Arry and he suffers the same media problem Andy Cole had, his black.

No, he does suffer from similar issues to Cole - the fact that he's a good domestic player but never looked good enough at International level.

Seriously, since when did Darren Gough become a football analyst? Heard a clip of him on some nasty sounding radio show saying he'd take Lampard and Gerrard over anyone in Spain including Xavi and Iniesta? Messi and Ronaldo say hi, as do most of the Barca and Real squads. Aguero, Forlan and a few others might be in the conversation too.

Jesus Christ of all people you guys could possibly get on the radio to talk about football this guy gets a gig? Heh.

Yeah, he's a disgrace. I remember listening to him the day after the Shawcross-Ramsey incident and was basically making out that it's Arsenal's fault and we should buy tougher players

Stick to cricket, Dazzler. Although his opinions there are, um, questionable, as well.
