Hang your head in shame sir. He won us the champions league, got us runners up two years later and (at least for a couple of seasons) made us look like promising future title contenders (sort of). He brought in Reina, Torres, Alonso and Kuyt. Last season was chatastrophic but there've been hummings and harrings for about 3 years now and I think he kept it cool for the most part. I would say though that he left too late and brought a lot down with him.Yeah pretty much. Rafa never really suggested to me that he was anything other than a poor manager.
I was never sure if Aquilani would have been suited to the pacepremier league TBH, if he where regularly fit during his time @ pool. But then again i always suspected Poulsen would have been a bad replacement. Very much a hachet-man midifed Poulsen seeing him over the years for Denmark, that has a habit of making alot of bad tackles. Sissoko would have been a better buy, but then again he probably would not have wanted to go back to Liverpool. To make matter worse, the player Hodgson loaned out for nothing scored a cracker of a goal for Juve:

Juve must be pissing themselves laughing. We gave them 5 million and swapped Poulsen for Aquilani.
Joe Cole has been horrible for Liverpool as well, it's not as if he's been an innocent bystander in all this.I was never sure if Aquilani would have been suited to the pacepremier league TBH, if he where regularly fit during his time @ pool. Konchesky was certainly a poor buy from sir Hodgson.
From an English perspective, feeling a bit sorry for pool. Since the poor current form will affect the form of key ENG players such a Cole, who certainly wouldn't have expected this start to his career @ anfield.
Whatever. CBA & DGAF. Suffice to say I don't much rate Aquillani and, based on how he handled him, I don't think Benitez did either. Wasn't impressive at all when he was played. He definitely was. This is the post-Parry era where Benitez finally got the power he wanted. You're essentially saying that Aquilani was on the bench for more than half the season because it wasn't until about 2 months in that he healed from his injury. He was played but even after being "fit" he was continuously ill or unfit. He was not on the bench and unused as you seem to be suggesting for most of the season.
Suffice to say, there'd be no way Aquilani would have been loaned out. If Benitez really wanted to get rid of him, which there is no real evidence he did, then he'd have sold him. Not loaned him out as Roy has done instead of reinvesting the money back into the club. Currently, at the end of his loan spell Juve have the option of buying Aquilani for 16m euros. That, especially, makes the decision to loan him out daft. It's not like we were City and could just loan marquee players. If we don't need the player we certainly needed the money.
Yea for sure. But i have a sneaky feeling ATS of his career, he probably wanted & thought he would play more centrally when he went over.Joe Cole has been horrible for Liverpool as well, it's not as if he's been an innocent bystander in all this.
He actually was quite a few times.. He was not on the bench and unused as you seem to be suggesting for most of the season.
.
Not even the best midfielder on his own team, which is Meireles. All by his own? Gerrard has been their best player this season by a mile
Own goal hat-trick right there. He brought in Reina, Torres, Alonso and Kuyt.
NoNot even the best midfielder on his own team, which is Meireles.
Meireles ?Not even the best midfielder on his own team, which is Meireles.
If the entire Liverpool team was ordinary, they wouldn't be 19th.Meireles ?
Has been very ordinary of what i have seen him .
Yeah we get it, Arsenal and any player thereof are damned if they do, and damned if they don't. Move along.Must say about Chamakh - I'm still right.
Hatfuls of chances and scored one with some quality 'after you' defending and the keeper still nearly saved it when it was a virtual open goal.
