And if the result remains 1-2 then we've been robbed. Macheda...

EDIT: With the denied pens and the offsides, I have to say this is one of the worst officiated games I've seen for a while for us. Obviously made worse by us losing so I'm more than likely biased, but uuuuuurgh. If we don't score another one or two I'll remain unhappy over this.
Yeah, let's conveniently ignore the blatant pen Chelsea were denied and Macedha's Curranesque setup for the goal

I'm not forgetting anything, I typed that before realising it was a handball, admittedly. But that only furthers my point (as does the Chelsea pen, which I agree should have been given).

In all honesty this game is almost worth replaying regardless of the result, it's farcical refereeing from all ends.
I agree it's been disastrous all the way through but my comment was more a tongue in cheek take on the Thierry Henry saga though.

Well given that you said, "if we don't score one or two more I'll remain unhappy over this" then it certainly would appear you were blaming the refereeing for your defeat. Your goal shouldn't have stood, neither should their second. You should have had one penalty each. Sounds about fair to me, Chelsea have been the better team quite comfortably though.

Not sure I agree with that, we've been about as superior to them in the second half as they were to us in the first. Still, at the end of the day they are winning.

Referee and linesmen have all been absolutely shocking from all angles, as has been said.

I said "one or two more" because I obviously couldn't say I'd be unhappy if we got points. While the ref isn't the only reason we're losing, he's played a part of it and to say that I'd be happy if we lost is just silly.

The ref hasn't played a part in you losing though, unless you expect them to give you the decisions and not Chelsea.

I suppose you are used to that as a United fan :p

Chelsea still need to go away to Spurs and Liverpool. Their other three are home bankers though. If we're only 3 behind them after today, I think it's possible.

Nobody knows how the result of the game would have ended up with how many changes the game would have had over those, what, four bad decisions minimum. All were game affecting. I'm not happy because I'm not winning, and the ref did play a part in it because he basically dictated the match with shoddy decisions. If the first penalty was given, if the second was, if the offside was called, if the handball was called, who knows? Chances are the game would have been played out differently from the first decision onwards. I can't say that it would have had a different result and I'm not suggesting that, but at least if we'd have lost we could have said the other team were the better team and "fair's fair" instead of "Well, I don't know what to make of it, really, because every time something major happened it was more often than not a complete farce. But hey, we're now down in points and further down in goal difference."

It's basically hard to take a result like that when you know the entire game was a joke. I'm sure it's easy when it's not your team or something, but on this occasion it matters more than most and it's a title decider potentially. But we get a ref who has had publicity, reputation, pressure and bad games recently and, in a complete shocker, he does everything he can to react to the pressure of that publicity and "quick draw" reputation and ends up with another bad game.

Pfft. Possible but unlikely. We've got to beat the Spuds at their place to have any chance and that has draw written all over it.

LOL, you were beaten by a better team, the ref had a shocker but had a shocker for both teams. That's the crux of it.

Chav's title :p

Better team? I don't know about that. They were the better team in the first half, we were the better in the second. Definitely the better finishers, though, I'll give them that, and I guess that made the difference today.

Yeah it is very much possible for al three sides, certainly given the way this season has gone, Liverpool is a really tough game for Chelsea. especially if Torres is fit and on form.

If Arsenal need to win all their games though and I would be far from confident of that happening.

Chelsea an awful lot better in the first half though, looked a far better footballing side. Second half yeah United pressed really hard and Chelsea got a bit nervous but United never looked convincing, created very little.

I have to say, how was that not a penalty in the first half when Neville fouled Drogba?
That was not a penalty because the referee didn't want to give a penalty after not giving one earlier because he didn't want to keep his reputation up as a quick-draw penalty giver.
