In regards to the Inter/Barca deal for Ibra/Eto'o.
I think people are underestimating Ibra here and overestimating Eto'o.
No doubts, Eto'o is a weapon, but he's benefitted for years by having the best midfield in the world feed him chance after chance. He's industrious, he'll work hard, he'll score goals, but honestly, anyone thinking he'll produce another 30-odd goals in Italy with the dynamic creative duo of Cambiasso and Muntari behind him is kidding themselves.
In regards to Ibra, he's a **** no doubt, he can go missing at times, yes. It's all true. But at Barca, he won't. Mark my words, when he's not the only creative force in a side and has an amazing midfield feeding him chances, he will light it up consistently. People criticise him for his games in the CL against United in recent years, and to a degree it's fair enough. But back to my point, his midfield at Inter was poor going forward and it's hard to beat the best defensive pairing in the world on your own.
Financially and on paper, Inter are getting the better of this swap. Eto'o is a proven goalscorer (In Spain) and is world class. Inter's midfield, however, is not. Zlatan has been Inter's talisman and beacon over the last few seasons. Watching Ibra last season, without him Inter would've missed the CL this year. He won them over ten games on his own back, and they will seriously miss the man unless they can bring in a seriously talented trequartista to sit behind Eto'o.
Mark my words, Barca win here.
