Interesting that Robinho was subbed on and then later taken off in today's game....can anyone confirm why this is? I presume it was down to an injury scare..but I'd lol if it wasn't.
Based on BBC text updates rather than the game, it's because he was poor and wussed out of a 50/50 with Fellaini. MOTD in 10mins, hopefully they'll show it.

Indeed we're officially better then Man U:)

Just wish the ginger Platini hadn't done this when the transfer window was still open.

Still, when Ryan scores his first headed goal, from his, well. first ever header you know that your in for a good day. The 20-yarder was just a bit meh compared to that, he does them all the time :)
Surprised we haven't seen Grecian in here yet. Must be a happy chappy.
Suggestion: have an *Official* Liverpool thread and leave the proper football to here

Not sure it had anything to do with the 50/50, he was just terrible. Had no impact on the game whatsoever. The only chance he had was just as he came on, and he spooned a volley over the bar. I'd be trying to get rid of him if I was Mancini. He wasn't the only invisible Citeh player though, only really Bellamy seemed to be putting any effort in and Given made a couple of good saves. Barely saw Tevez, Barry was completely out played in midfield by Pienaar and Fellaini, Petrov did 1 thing of note all game, cutting in from the right and having a good shot. They were shockingly bad, well either that, or we were brilliant. I'm going with that one.

Too soft for the Prem indeed. I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave at the end of the season either. It's fairly clear that Mark Hughes never wanted to sign him and only ended up with him because the owners wanted to throw their weight around and show that they could sign a real "star" player. Also fairly evident that the only reason he agreed to join Citeh rather than go elsewhere was because of the insane amount of $$$$ being offered. Citeh will be well shot of him imo.

Anyway really pleased to see Everton win today, thought they really deserved it. Fellaini was awesome, pretty sure he didn't lose out on a header all game and his ball retention was immense. Pleased to see City lose as well; don't mind most of their players but Robinho and Bellamy are both ****s.

Today Is the sort of day that makes you realise why nine-hour round trips to Norwich are worth it.

I don't understand what Robinho has ever done to justify his status.

Has an impressive enough record for Santos I suppose, on paper anyway, first I ever really saw of him was when he joined Real Madrid, and like you, have never been a fan. The fact that he seems like a bit of a douche compounds my dislike for him. I would suggest he owes his status to a lot of clever work with smoke and mirrors by his agent.

And the fact that his only good performance in recent memory was his single-handed destruction of Arsenal, no doubt :p

Yeah, completely agree. I've said it before, but I can only imagine how the far superior Martin Petrov would be thought of if he had the good fortune to be Brazilian.

Haha, all the animosity I had as a result of that match was directed solely at the magisterial Togolese centre forward of theirs itbt.

Problem is who will want him? Don't think anyone in the Premiership would take him now, no way he is going back to Madrid and I think that Guardiola is wise enough not to sign him, really don't see why they would need him anyway. Maybe one of the big clubs in Italy I suppose but he is doing a pretty good job of ruining his career.

Yeah that is a considerable stumbling block actually. Like you say most of the clubs who could actually afford him probably wouldn't touch him with a barge pole now. I could see him going out on loan to a midtable Premiership team next season actually, as long as City pay a significant amount of his wages. Strikes me as a typical Spurs player actually.

Yeah, Spurs always get spoofed into buying world football's "new big star" who actually isn't any good.

Liverpool's lineup for their game today:

Reina
Carragher, Kyrgiakos, Skrtel, Insua,
Degen, Lucas, Mascherano, Aurelio,
Kuyt, Ngog.

Is that even as good an XI as Stoke had out?
Still can't believe he started 2 fullbacks in the midfield in a must-win game. Especially when Aquilani & Rodriguez are sitting on the bench.
