*Official* English Football Season 2009-2010

Norwood's on Fire
Think he improved them, but they're now on the way down again. Too reliant on two players & too much invested in an unproven (in England) Italian crock.

I sympathise, because I suspect he's not responsible for some of the signings that went **** up; it's obvious he never fancied Keane much.
Yeah, that's what I meant. He made them better but will he take them any further?

That being said, they beat united today and they are four points behind them with three quarters of the season to go, so I don't think you could discount them from the title race.

The points average argument is complete bunk. This is a different era, teams at the top drop far fewer points than in the past.

Yeah, I don't think you could argue that Benitez hasn't improved Liverpool, but is it possible that they are no stagnating and he'll take them no further? Houllier improved them as well, and then lost the plot a little after a good season in 01-02.
Yeah, you're absolutely right, which is why the second point is the more important. Benitez may not be taking them forward at this moment in time, but would his replacement? Who would his replacement even be?

All their fans kept telling us lot to leave John Barnes alone. Apparently he's a legend. Hey, I'm just saying....

Liverpool supporting mate reckons it'd be one of three. In descending order of likelihood: O'Neill, Mourinho or Guardiola.

Clearly Pep a reeeeeeeeeeeeally big stretch.

BARNES OUT
Personally, I reckon Mourinho's even a further stretch. He won't come back to England for anything bar the United post, IMO.

In other news, they're not showing the City game over here tonight. ****ing pissed off.

Mourinho and Pep aren't coming, so the question is, would O'Neill do a better job than Benitez?

I honestly think he probably would. But it's debateable. The problem with appointing a manager like that is, people will turn on him very quickly because he's seen as unproven.

Hoping we get drawn out and then Jimmeh makes me love him even more by picking out Jester or Wrexscum

With Everton as his second team.

EDIT - just realised what he was talking about. Don't mind me.

Haha, half-annoyed, half-laughing with all the beachballs.

Smart looking formation from Rafa. Liking Fabio up forward, Mascherano's role and our defence in general. Feeling a tiny bit of confidence.

Good early signs these. United look flat. Yellow card. Right-hand side on fire.

Passing percentage good.
