incredibly stupid if that turns out to be true.
Would be pointless sacking him now, if your going to do it then it may as well been done before the season started. But people like Jesus Gil and in Real Madrid Presisdental tradition have proved then anything is possible in terms of sacking managers.

Went to the Inter-Roma Italian Super Cup game on Sunday night, very good time even if Totti did go down like a girl to win that penalty  For all the efforts they try and do to fix up their reputations flares are still allowed into the crowd. A couple of the flares sounded like a bomb had gone off.

I really struggle to get it up for friendlies nowadays (especially ones so soon in the new season when half the squad conveniently develop niggles), but will probably end up watching us v Jerry. Not that I reckon we'll learn much, mind. Richards & Robinson probably have the most to gain & lose respectively. It'll be interesting to see how the big lad combines with Dave (ankle permitting) & if Robinson looks as dodgy as he has for the Spurts Calamity might be again usurping him as no.1. Calling back a 37 year old makes little sense if he's not going to play.

Tipping Lehmann to have a blinder btw, as he's surely already dropped his quota of bollocks for the season.

How many times are England going to play with their midfield centre pairing too deep before someone finally does something about it?

Nice to see someone come from an advanced position wide on the flank before cutting in. As opposed to being 40 yards out and cutting in and continuously creating little because of it.

German/Germany.

Lawro and Motson just confirming their utter ignorance of football with their praise of how well Joe Cole plays his position

Nearly as embarrassing as that equaliser. Typical England.

Lawro 'some bright sparks in Micah Richards and Joe Cole'

WTF has Joe Cole done? Bugger all. His usual looks ok but produces nothing performance.

Owen misses an open goal...

I don't think it's coincidental that Lampard has had his best half for England since, well I can't remember, without Gerrard in the team. I just don't think they combine well. McClaren needs to pick which one he prefers & not play the other. I don't think it even matters particularly which one.

If I was being harsh I could say two clowns going off, two clowns coming on.

Oh and very impressive stuff from Healy and NI again.

James is on for the second half. Hopefully we've witnessed the end of Robinson's international career tonight.
Probably, Mclaren has to make a decision quickly on him because since the World Cup Robinson has looked a bit iffy in goal. Its either he works with James or go for Carson who has looked very impressive for the Under 21's recently.

Shorey gives England's part-time central midfielder Joe Cole some space, so he can contribute nothing again with a shot going wide.

Shorey has been impressive in this game Edit: until then.
