But that is what separates him from any regular English full-back (behind a wrecked Comrad Neville) is his ability to cross well, since i don't think he is quicker than Johnson, Young or his club mate Onhua, but they can't cross period at least Richards has shown that he can.

I will sign on for some Dirty Leeds hate. Filthy beggars. Was gutted to see they'd scored in injury time again.

I personally would say that Richards main strength, other than the fact that he is a very competent player, is that he is a really fine athlete, one of the best athletes you are likely to see in any sport, top physical condition, this makes him incredibly strong, and a real bastard to play against. He's a top player, and by far outstrips most other young English players coming through at the moment. But the fact of the matter is, he hasnt shown anything to suggest he is a great crosser, the example you gave (matches against Estonia and Russia) are poor, as there hardly were any crosses of any importance in the entire match, certainly from England's perspective.

Fair enough, if you want to disreguard the crosses Richards made againts those minnow nations (no disrespect to Russia) given that they probably didn't result in any goal-scoring oppurtunities. But he is young & has every right to develop a strong crossing game since every other aspect of his game is in top order.

Personally, I think Alves would be the perfect signing, offers a lot going forward (and is also unfairly criticized defensively IMO), however I can't see it, going to Barcelona IMO.
Probably, saw Lahm being touted as possible candidate but i doubt he would leave Munich given that they are on the brink of becoming a real force in Europe again.

A good option would be Miguel from Valencia, have always been impressed with his all-round since i saw him @ the WC plus he has a decent portuguese presence @ OT already. But haven't seen United hint to him ever.

Let Richards come i say Neville passing on the torch to another Englishman..

Alves? No. Already have enough right wingers thank you. Much rather Simpson than that overrated piece. Like Cicinho. Only rated cause he's Brazilian and Real wasted money on him.

Say what? I agree that he's a tad over-rated, but Simpson over him?

Reading that post of yours also makes me wonder what your views on Mancini are.

Simpson > Alves is an interesting statement.

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited by Simpson, an excellent prospect, but IMO he's a couple of years away from being United standard, Alves however is brilliant at what he does, even if realistically we won't sign him.

FWIW Mancini is the definition of overrated IMO.

Agreed, completely inexplicable as well really, as from what I have seen he hasnt done anything to deserve a fraction of the high praise he gets.

Though he's probably more deserving of his praise than the fantasic Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has got to be one of the most wasteful, clumsy and allround inneficient players I have ever seen play in the top flight for any team.

Yeah, wasn't too popular with our fans but I liked him. Ah well, that's the League One way, we have zero right-backs and last time this happened in a summer we ended up going the whole season without one. Great.

In other news, I am a Doncaster fan for the next few weeks, judging by recent responses, so are the rest of ya, come on Donny, **** Leeds

Exeter have 20% of Jamie Coppinger. Does this mean I hope Leeds win, because Copps may move on if donny don't get promoted?

Nah.

BTW what an Hat-trick that was by JC, makes Trundle look a fat over-rated nobody, TBH.

Come on Cambridge, can't have Exeter getting promoted and having at least 3 people lauding it over me forever.
