*Official* English Football Season 2007-08

International Coach
This is getting interesting, West Ham have refused permission for Tevez to have a medical (presumably to cover their own arses), but according to the Mail we're going to go throug with it anyway and put the ball in their court.

Never said future great. I did say though that he'd probably move to further his career.
He's certainly moved, but i don't see how being at Sunderland will further his career except to stick him in a Richie Humphreys-esque category.

Is this an indication that West Ham are trying to prepare for life after Tevez by purchasing a bloke who can put the ball in the back of the net regularly?

I sure hope so! I want the Tevez deal done and dusted as soon as possible.

Wouldn't care less if he came or not TBH. Will add quality but he may just end up costing a very good prospect.

Well that's great. West Ham just signed Ljungberg for half the price they signed Faubert at.
Gilberto the only senior outfield player now with Henry and Ljungberg gone? Oh there's Gallas and Lehmann too but they aren't exactly role models are they? Some talented players over the age of 25 needed at Arsenal IMO. One of the main differences between Man Utd and Arsenal last season was that Man Utd had quite a few older heads to complement the younger guys.

I think that we definitely need a striker, but I'm still undecided on whether the Rooney-Tevez partnership will work.

a proper centre forward is definitely needed, the rooney/tevez partnership is very difficult to predict as they are not disimilar in terms of the way they play, man utd need a proper centre forward to make them a really great side.

if you're talking about giuseppe rossi, then you're off your head, tevez is more than twice the player rossi will ever be.

I'm sure Rosicky, Hleb, Adebayor and Toure in particular count as senior players,

certainly the exodus of players of the last two years is somewhat perplexing if unavoidable...but...no player that has left arsenal has ever been as much of a sucess as they were whilst at highbury...i would normally be worried, but i have faith in wenger...history has taught that it is wise to adopt this stance.
