That's true - but Chelsea were far stronger on paper than United were.

Clearly over the course of the season Kuszczak, Dong, Eagles, Lee and Richardson haven't been regulars. Neither have Smith and Solskjaer really. Compare that to Chelsea whose starting XI had players who are regular starters for them in the likes of Terry and Essien. The only starter who hasn't been a major part of thier season was Jo Cole and possibly Bridge. The players you were referring to are Brown, Fletcher and O'Shea. 3 out of 11 compared to 9-10 for Chelsea. Please. Pffft.

Again, yes, they had the stronger team, but the arguments made by both you and marc aren't great. I would say that not a single player involved in the United side would be in the first-choice XI (I put Evra ahead of Heinze), whereas roughly four or five of Chelsea's side could be... not entirely sure on Ferreira, Mikel, Wright-Philips or Makelele but certainly Terry, Essien and Kalou would be.

Disappointing Chelsea/United match. While I'm impressed how our "reserves" did against Chelsea, I think for the sake of a great contest we should've played our best side and Chelsea should've done the same. I suppose at the moment though the FA Cup Final is our focus. That's all well and good but I'd hate to see us lose momentum by constantly resting key players.

If Fergie's stance on the match is anything to go by it wouldn't have been that much. Was considering playing a weak side as well against Chelsea if it meant resting players to win the title against West Ham.

I'm boycotting next season's footy thread if it turns into a Man U discussion all season. Seriously bored with like the last 50 pages (I view 40 posts a page), it's all Man U Man U Man U. They may be the champions, but they're not the only ****ing team in England, there's 91 other league sides, and we have Exeter fans in this thread, who don't even fall into that. I've seen a Man U thread floating round this board lately, can't we the John O' Sheas and Kieran Richardsons of the world in that?

Essien would be, but not as a centre half, but I wouldn't say Kalou would be.

There happen to be a lot of fans of United and there happen to be a lot of people who follow United's progress enough to talk about them. It's only natural it'll happen. Get some of your supported club's fans that happen to like cricket and the internet to join here and boost your own discussions, maybe? I don't have a problem with people talking about other clubs.

Last I checked, United were part of the English Football Season 2006-07, so it's only reasonable that people are able to discuss them in here. Would be kind of stupid to expect everyone not discuss the Premiership title race during and immediately after the games where the title is being won/lost.

Would be nice if Man United supporters actually knew anything about the rest of the league system though.
