Another excellent start for Yorks, the depth of Durham's bowling unit looking really stretched now, big opportunity for Yorkshire to put some real pressure on them in this game. Mark Davies has now gone 65 overs without a wicket, Rushworth is on debut, Plunkett seems to be mixing very decent balls with a fair amount of tripe this season, and Ben Stokes is still learning about first-class cricket. All hopes must fall on Blackwell to try and spin them into the game.124-0 at lunch then.Should go on to 400+ against this attack which is popgun in the extreme with all the injuries.Hopefully Lyth will go on to a deserved ton (78 at lunch) and Sayers can anchor the innings which he does so well.
You forget that Lumb is actually a pretty average four day player and harsh on Adams has had a great start to the season.Hampshire batting like muppets again. 65/3, with only Carberry playing well. We really do look like a 1-man batting line-up atm. Vince has showed promise too, but he can't really be relied on yet. McKenzie has done absolutely nothing, we really could do with Lumb back.
Yes surprising start for such a high quality performer. Felt sorry for him on Sunday against Sussex, battled hard early but was visibly struggling, then finally found the middle of the bat a couple of times, including the one that cannoned onto his pads and Umpire Benson gave him out LBW. When you're out of form, you're invariably out of luck too.Phil Jaques has made 3 0's in a row in FC cricket. IIRC he'd never got a duck in his FC career until this season. LV CC Div 2 > Sheffield Shield confirmed.
Yes it has that score on BBC and ECB website aswell. You forget that Lumb is actually a pretty average four day player and harsh on Adams has had a great start to the season.
Still this is awful again and yeah Mckenzie has been useless so far. Vince is going to get a big score soon though,
Says it is 18-2 on crcinfo? so do not know what is going on there.
Hopefully Lumb can kick on from his performances last season in the CC, where I think in terms of average, he had his best full season. I like Lumb but I agree he has to produce more consistent runs in the CC for him to kick onto the next level. You forget that Lumb is actually a pretty average four day player and harsh on Adams has had a great start to the season.
Pretty sure that is never going to happen, he scored one double ton last year and did very litte else. He has found his role as a twenty 20 player and he has been excellent in 40 and 50 over cricket but I never see him scoring lots of runs in the county championship.Hopefully Lumb can kick on from his performances last season in the CC, where I think in terms of average, he had his best full season. He's never scored more than two centuries in the CC suring a single summer, and he does need to string a few more together. He's certainly made an impression in Twenty20 cricket, but surely his talent deserves better performances in the more classical form of the game. Why do you think he will never make that next step ?Pretty sure that is never going to happen, he scored one double ton last year and did very litte else. We have dropped lucky this season. With playing a few of the weaker sides early when we have our England players available and then meeting Durham when we are in good form and both sides have severely weakened bowling attacks so our in form batting can cash in and put them under pressure.Another excellent start for Yorks, the depth of Durham's bowling unit looking really stretched now, big opportunity for Yorkshire to put some real pressure on them in this game.
Just don't think he has the ability to bat long periods on a regular basis, he is one of those players that gets a 30 and then gets out. Real problem with him last year though is that he was scoring pretty slowly so he was obviously tying to apply himself but the runs still did not reall come. I would rather he tries to bring his agressive game to to the 4 day game, would at least score his 35 quikcly. He's never scored more than two centuries in the CC suring a single summer, and he does need to string a few more together. Beat me to it.Great effort from Moeen Ali. Scoring over 75 percent of Worcestershire's runs and is closing on a 100 when the second highest score is 15.
He looked a good player from the 40 over game I saw on Sunday against Sussex. Can bloody hit the ball.
