For the first time in my life Lancs were not my tip for the title - I reckon I've lifted the curse - come September the long wait will be over :)
Our top 5 still leaves a hell of a lot to be desired so far, Didnt manage 100 between them in either innings, mind you if we can chalk up a win like that, it might bode well if our batsmen can get their acts together. I certainly think our 2,3,4 hold up well against the rest of the league.

No chance. The biggest bottlers in history will find a way of not winning it.
Well playing games at home never helps, but with a dry summer on the cards and Durham's aura of invincibility gone whatever happens in their game tomorrow, I will wait and see, quietly confident that success will come

What sort of speeds does Chris Woakes get? Is he the sort of bowler that relies on a lot of movement, but if there is none, hets hit around the park?

Was on the field all the time until I got bored and wandered off to bowl at an empty net for half an hour. My conclusions were that he throws like a complete pansy.
irrespective of how he may throw it does not detract from the fact that Ervine's bowling is just a bit poo.

On what i have seen he is only just over 80mph and can get it to move about a bit but is at that early stage where if it doesn't do much then he struggles and seems to bowl pies.Give him a year or so more to learn his art and he will be a real handful but whether he has the pace to get an international call up is questionable.

Back to the trademark Donkey Panesar performance. 3 slow wickets at the cost of 30+. One a number 11, one where a batsman slapped him straight to a fielder and an lbw where someone probably played for his phantom turn. As far doing the job of these bowlers are meant to do - break partnerships, work over and dismiss a good set batsman. He's useless.

Also concerning to see Rashid being relegated to bit-part bowler for Yorkshi*e, from the perspective of the future England side.

Must seem a very easy game to Simon Kerrigan
Come on you aren't playing much, even we hammered them last week.

Great start for him though.

It has been a theme about the start of this season with lots of youngsters putting in good performances and i hope it continues all season.

If Durham draw today, I'll eat my computer. They looked like a certain loss lastnight, now, they're actually winning :frusty:

Note: Is there annyone else who thinks that Yorkshire's run rate of 2.00 is too small considering it's day for against Somerset and they only need 187 to win with 9 wicket?

Well enjoy eating your 'puter, think it's a nailed-on draw now, good rearguard.

Run-rate won't be a problem for the Tykes, can't see how they won't win really :(

Yorkshi*e can find a way, trust me. I think they need 198 off 56 overs having a quick calculation. While they have depth they don't have much quality when it comes to scoring quickly. Could see that going down to the last few overs with all results possible.

Bad light stops play at Durham. What a shame. Cloud will probably be well set over there if it's anything like here 20 miles away.
