In place of who exactly? When does detouschate qualify for england, get him in quick.
You surely do! Of those only the name of Adil Rashid rings a bell. And I certainly do not rate him over RtD.....The other two names have never ever even reached my ears. That might have something to do with the limited information I receive on non test cricketers. Good there is cricinfo, so I can check their stats. Here we go:Adil Rashid,James Taylor,Kane Williamson.
Need i go on?
Cricket archive gives record for each team - I have realised though that that includes records against the UCCEs and inflates him a little - his county record is actually 38 with the bat and 36. I agree that it is a good record, but it is far from an outstanding one, and for me definitely not one that screams "Test player"Before I go on:
@ marc71178: Where did you get RtD's county figures of 41 with the bat and 36 with the ball? I can't fin it on cricino (shows tests, T20s, ODIs, 1st class and list A, not county as itself). Anyway, I think that any player that averages higher with the bat than with the ball on a decent level, should be considered good........... Disagree??
look at their ages though. They already perform at a bloody high standard and are kids who will only get better and R2D2 has peaked and has only ever played in division 2 in England anyway.Yes i know Taylor has too but not many teenagers get 1000 runs in a county season, the last before Taylor was a certain guy called Tendulkar. You surely do! I was gonna compare county avergaes, but can't find the, Instead I took first class. Would that be ok? Not sure here..... But I think it would say something....
Anyway, Rashid and RtD both average 33-odd with the ball. RtD averages 50 with the bat, Rashid 36.... Williamson has a lower batting average and a higher bowling average.... And I can't even think why you put forward the name of James taylor....
Is it just me, or did you simply make a poor remark there? Or am I missing something here?
Have you ever seen his name spelled out? When does detouschate qualify for england, get him in quick.
Can't do much more than that, tbf.Have to say though, his batting record for the Netherlands is pretty exceptional, even if the standard is pretty poor. 1285 runs at 142.77 with 7 centuries and 1 half centuries. Ridiculous average and an even more impressive 50/100 conversion rate. That's a seriously good effort.
I think a lot of people would have thought "impressive, but after all, it was only Worcestershire" ... until Worcs won the match, that is.Surprised that Finn's effort has barely got a mention. Took 14 wickets including 9-37 in the 2nd innings against Worcester and should have had all 10, but Strauss dropped Jaques off Finn early, who happened to be the only bloke Finn didn't pick up. Awesome performance. Here are the highlights of his 9fer: Worcs v Midd day 2.flv - File Shared from Box.net
And you're still failing to come up with any facts to support your rose tinted view that Onions has consistently out performed Broad and Anderson. So you're still cherry-picking rubbish statistics along the same lines then, bypassing bowling averages entirely. There is nothing to argue here because they're just tiny hand-picked samples that are often obscure and barely relevant to start with.
Sorry.I forgot South Africans are the best at everything.Especially arrogance.flibberty he is south african get it![]()
Great performance but the pitch was a minefield so it'll be interesting to see how he goes as the season progressesSurprised that Finn's effort has barely got a mention.
