And even that isn't your bloody first team !Somerset 110 all out, Yorks 50/1
We must have ordered the title on express delivery
A fine way to avoid an absent spinner being a problem is to bowl the oppo out before he would have to bowl. #tacticsAnd even that isn't your bloody first team !
Hope the Roses matches next year coincide with Test matches
You'd still lose. And even that isn't your bloody first team !

unless we sign/find some batsmen I'm sure you're rightYou'd still lose.
Well, that's just bull**** in this case as Topley is apparently mainly leaving because Grayson is being given the boot and he's concerned about the upheaval. Word is that Foster is likely to retire at the end of the season too, so if that was the justification those issues are supposed to be solved this year. As it is, Topley might go on loan to Hampshire this season and Essex might sign some aged journeyman from Surrey. It's no surprise that everyone is leaving. Grayson has stayed coach (as has Foster as captain) well beyond he could have had any expectation of given the results, and the transfer policy of the club has been terrible.
Who knows. Read somewhere that they think Sam who is the younger will end up batting 5 or 6. Saw him bat at bristol and certainly didn't look overawed and plenty of time to play his strokes. He certainly looks like a school kid so who knows how he will fill out physically and what impact that will have on his bowling. How good can these Curran boys be at Surrey? Are they bowlers who can bat a bit? I saw the younger one can bowl reasonably fast for someone who is 17.
Just while we're on the subject of young players whose bowling seems on face value to be their strongest suit but pundits/fellow players recognise that it's their batting that could ultimately be their real strength, how has Lewis Gregory developed as a batsman this season ? I know the likes of Trescothick have always said he has the ability to bat in the top order and score loads of runs but another meagre return in the CC this season averaging just 15 without a single half-century suggests it is taking him some time to find his feet with the bat at this level.Who knows. Umpired him in a schools game early this summer.Who knows. Read somewhere that they think Sam who is the younger will end up batting 5 or 6. Tom isn't quite as quick as Sam at present but seems a smart bowler and at 20 will add pace to his game. Certainly excellent prospects.
Be interesting to see how Surrey compete next year in the first division.
Well yes that kind of emphasises my point that we haven't seen the so-called promise realised to anything near its potential if Tres and a few other pundits are to believed. Certainly not judging by the stats for this season, with bat in hand anyway.I've never thought Gregory was anything more than a very good county player to be honest. Looks like kind of player who has no real massive strength to his game.
