Don't Yorkshire have enough bowlers?

Way you're going you could win the Championship for the next 10 years lol

You'd think a seam attack of Sidebottom, Brooks, Bresnan and Patterson would be pretty safe, yeah. Even if Plunkett carries the drinks for England all summer.

I reckon Willey will aim for a top 6 spot. We had Will Rhodes opening the batting this year and was a bit ordinary

I suppose Sidebottom won't be around much longer, even if there wasn't much sign of the aging process this summer. Perhaps Willey is seen as a long-term LFM replacement, beyond what he will bring to the side next year.

Oddly enough, your academy, for which I have the highest admiration, seems to be doing better with batmen than bowlers in recent years. Especially when you consider that Brooks & Plunkett are imports and Sidebottom is a re-signing. I say oddly because I'm old enough to remember your youth set-up producing Gough, Hoggard, Silverwood and SB within the space of a few years back in the day.

Adds more depth and as Howe says gives us a good option for T20 cricket.

Good signing but must be a worry for the other counties seeing Yorkshire get even stronger when they are so dominant anyway in the championship.

As for Will Rhodes, well Leaning was ordinary before this season. What happens with kids making their way. They have clearly identified him as one for the future with huge potential so we have to be patient.

Might be a side effect of a lot of the leagues putting caps on bowlers and pushing towards OD cricket.

Sidearse will probably be retiring I would think. Willey isn't going to get games otherwise.
Don't think there's a problem if Sidebottom doesn't retire.

Willey only played 5/12 championship games this year and he was fit for a load he missed they just preferred him to play one day cricket. Sidebottom has played 6/11. I'd imagine they'll share championship duties for the most part with Willey rested from a few championship games around the t20 and 50 over comps- and obviously away with England occasionally.

Willey said to have turned down more money from other clubs because he wanted better chance to play test cricket so I guess he has been told he will be given a chance to earn regular first class matches.

Footitt has turned down a contract extension at Derbyshire. Iain O Brien linking him to Surrey.

Serious bowler, but I don't understand why any bowler would want to move to The Oval? It's as flat as a pancake for the majority of the season.

I can't understand why he has played so few games for Essex this season.
I've heard he's just over-awed at being in the presence of Ravi, can't blame him TBH.

Hildy for England. Oh and Trego and Gregory whilst I'm thinking about it.
