I seriously can't believe Vince is averaging 18 for the season though. I mean sure Div one is a step up but never this much, just a horror season.

true story - if Anderson went down injured this ashes I would replace him with Rushworth at Edgbaston and Trent Bridge (but not the Oval). Would be the closest like for like replacement. Would just bowl wicket to wicket, straight and full at 78 and 79mph and wobble the ball around. Finn, Footitt, or Plunkett probably come in for Broad or Wood but composition of attack is off if those guys comes in for Anderson. Not normally a fan of the county trundler but he's been brilliant this season with not a whole lot of help from the other bowlers. I'm not convinced Australia would handle him too well either. Hard to go really hard at Rushworth on a slow low wicket.

Will Footitt get a chance against the Australians tomorrow? Or will he be saved for county cricket.

Yep we get every year articles about "why can't we do something good with our T20 like the IPL or Big Bash" making up all sorts of things we should be doing, yet in the end this is why it will never gain traction, we have a lot of rain, and you can't play cricket in the rain, so you can't really be certain that each day will be an huge "event", because it becomes a damp squib, almost literally.

Rikki Clarke is such a great T20 bowler. Just hits back of a length with a bit of movement. 4 cheap overs up front almost a guarantee.

Cunning use of an unbeaten hundred run stand for the second wicket has made it almost forgivable that Hodd is the next man in.

Both these guys actually have decent T20 records tbf. Nicely played

Our batting has been slipping away recently. Also our death bowling which had been a strength has also been poor last 3 or 4 games. Sort of backing into the quarter final which is a concern. Porterfield back will help though, underrated T20 player.
