And that's that. 43 wickets for Darren Stevens this season; before this year he'd taken 202 in a career which began in 1997.

Chasing 324, and opening with Tim Ambrose. Looks like we are going to give it a go then leave Westy back incase a heap of wickets go down.

They're currently 9/2 I think the 300+ may be a bit too much if they lose another wicket anytime soon.

Looks like we're losing Bairstow to the Lions now. But not Lyth, so we're still good.

I see Kirby retired. Signing of Groenewald looks good for somerset. Gregory and Coverton have stood up this season. J Overton, Meschede and Dibble all good prospects. But with Thomas coming to the end as well Groenewald signing looks important.

WGidman out of contract at the end of the season. Glos have offered him something but he hasn't signed yet. I'd imagine there are some first division clubs interested. His batting more than makes up for the times on flat wickets where he doesn't offer much as a bowler,

England Lions squad for od series against NZ and SL A:

James Taylor (Nottinghamshire) captain
Jonny Bairstow (Yorkshire)
Ravi Bopara (Essex)
Steven Finn (Middlesex)
Stephen Parry (Lancashire)
Harry Gurney (Nottinghamshire)
Alex Hales (Nottinghamshire)
Craig Overton (Somerset)
Jason Roy (Surrey)
Ravi Patel (Middlesex)
Tom Smith (Lancashire)
James Vince (Hampshire)
David Willey (Northamptonshire)

Ravi and Coverton the only guys I'd question in this squad. Don't see much point in Bopara in this squad as they know what he can do and will be in the full odi squad, Coverton being selected just shows the lack of other good bowling options.

Quite like that Lions squad, most players have potential to play Test cricket (which is because they are all talented and because England piss weak at the moment - if that makes sense).

All going wrong on the South coast.

Middx v Surrey at Lord's tonight - no Jade though (hammy).

Not too often you get both sides captained by an Irishman.

Surrey struggling to chase 137. Yet another cameo from KP. And not much batting to come - a lot of guys that can bat, but you wouldn't want to have to rely on them.

First time I've had a proper look at Ravi Patel. Like.

Will be really interesting to see how he goes with the Lions.

Personally would have gone for Riley over Patel but hey-ho. Good to see Finn back amongst the England set-up again. Hopefully the bowling coaches don't ruin him this time.

Gloucestershire doing their bit to make sure Somerset don't make the quarter finals. Not that they need any invitation to lose. We are terrible recently.

2nd hundred of the tournament for Westley (and possibly the first time that that has happened in the english competition). Goes 2nd highest scorer in the comp for the meantime also.
