Dunno, if anyone's mentioned it yet, but at the moment the Middlesex line up has Dexter Morgan, next to each other in the batting order.

Killer line-up that.......

Decent start by Parnell on debut (2-23). Apparently, the Kent boys were very surprised at how quick he was in the nets.

Hants 168-4, once again need Pothas to play a big innings if we are going to get a decent score. Crawley not playing which makes the batting even more suspect. Ervine has for the 4'th time this season got a start, 37 not out, really hope he get a good score this time but to be honest I will be surprised if he gets to 50.

Destroyed by Onions on a dreadfully flat road at Taunton. Good signs for England considering the first Test is at Lords. Onions has to play!

Total disaster for Somerset, 54/7 with only Langer holding out on 22*. Onions has five.
Makes for nice reading:

26*, 0, 0, 0, 0, 4, 0*

Good to see Onions and Vaughan justifying the selectors' decisions. But then when has Vaughan ever scored runs consistently in county cricket?

Well today was my first look at Onions in a long time. The interesting thing is how uninteresting a bowler he is.

He is unexceptional in every regard, which may make it difficult to impose himself on world class batsmen, but he appears to do everything pretty well and professionally.

He isnt a bowler to get excited about but he has a pretty nice action, he is fit, he bowls at a decent pace, he has tidy control and he can do a little bit with the ball.

Clearly he will never be a 'great' bowler but he is clearly already a different quality to some of the other recent selections.

Any legitimate concerns would arise from his record, which doesnt inspire confidence, but given the lack of options and the competition he may get a game.

The cricket played by Somerset today (mainly talking about the bowling) was woeful. Such a low standard.

I am saddened by the standard of CC cricket. As Im sure I have mentioned previously, I was a massive advocate of playing 4-day cricket but Ive now changed my mind. It will not happen anytime soon but 3-day cricket is the best way to develop players within the County system.

Heh Somerset had just lost their 2nd wicket when I went out, come back to see them decimated like that.

Awesome.

So glad I was wrong, only his second first class ton for hants, very pleased for him. Still managed to slightly irritate me though. getting out to Joyce.

Can just see Onions being one of those bowlers who makes a good start, take a few wickets against West Indies before failing horribly in the Ashes.
