Cook and Strauss both missing T20 Finals Day on ECB orders - does Cook actually get into the Essex Twenty20 side???

Also, Kolpak rule a step closer to being doomed, see here for more
Think that piece simply rehashes stuff that's been said before TBH, but this:
One possible upshot would be for existing Kolpak players to be permitted to complete their existing contracts, but for future signings to be regarded as overseas players.
would seem to be the logical solution and was what I was presuming was going to happen since hearing about the EU ruling.

Blessing in disguise for both teams particularly with Essex for Cook looks pretty awful at the moment. Although, I’m not sure why the ECB insisted on both men being rested, they should have been made available for their clubs and doubtlessly both players wouldn’t have minded playing, it’s a good day out.

I've been looking at the stats 1 a piece, Essex looking like the bigger hiters,
and are coming in to form
Kent can't make 2 out of 2

I'll stick £300 on the Eagles, follow me i'll make you rich.

Irritating way of getting out for Tresco, but some innings.

Was hoping for a double ton though :(

For anyone watching on cricinfo, Harmison has certainly not deserved his figures, been quite a few edges off him.

Ah, fannies. Forgot the Pro40 was on.

I didn't forget, I just didn't bother to watch, finding the garden more appealing. Rather wish I had now. Highlights on later, are there?

Durham have sunk to 54-5 chasing 287, have they reverted to a Minor County while I wasn't looking?

That tantalising thought of what could be? :(
Quite. Saw the highlights in the break between innings. Tres looked imperious & a decent attack too: Harmy, Plunkers, Collingwood, Breese, etc. Sigh...

Get the big fella back in for home internationals & bugger the tours.

Willoughy has been a bit good, it must be said. Getting the ball to nibble off the seam. Durham have never looked like they thought they could chase it down tho.

Actually 144 needed off 102, so if Benkenstein can stay there Durham do have a vague sniff still. Only 4 wickets in hand tho.

We had a benefit match for him at our club on Monday, we must've played him into form with his 30-ball 87. Once you've faced the might of Upottery, anything seems easy! It was so weird to see a player like him on our little ground.

I got 27 in our innings, including hitting Mike Munday out of the ground and Alfonso Thomas over mid-off for 4, both shots getting praised by Marcus, who was keeping extremely "sportingly".

I tell you what, if Durham pull this off it's been an epic chase. 22 off 17 needed with 1 wicket left. Already a Durham record for tenth wicket.

Ah it was reading "Boots N' All" for me guess it overran...finished now who won?

edit - just saw some clips of Plunkett, that was some hitting

Somerset won, but really should've wrapped things up earlier. Super knock from Arsenal-fan Liam Plunkett tho. Always rated the boy.

If that's a good OD attack I'm a computer.

Plunkett is woeful, Breese is very poor, Harmison is usually pretty poor in OD cricket, then there's Onions who's woeful too. I'm presuming Mark Davies is injured, else that lot being preferred to him makes about as much sense as a boot on the head. Ditto Neil Killeen. It says a fair bit when Collingwood's your best bowler.

Scary thing is, that could be said about England in 2006.
