On the plus side, it might mean that Tredwell comes in at a position that more accurately relects his ability as a batsman...Yeah thought that was extraordinary. Order-reversal evidently the way to go with McLaren (who admittedly can bat) coming-in at four.
Bit of a joke if you ask me, how can 38 wickets fall in two days of play minus time lost for interruptions with neither side looking as though they're going to manage a score of over 150 and there not be a problem with the pitch?Looks like the pitch inspectors have found nothing wrong at Durham, which as a Durham fan i'm pleased about obviously..especially considering both last season and this season, we played Lancashire away on terrible pitches which had similar scores, and nothing was done about it.
The same way that last September, 33 wickets fell over 1 and a half days in the Lancashire v Durham match without anything being done about itBit of a joke if you ask me, how can 38 wickets fall in two days of play minus time lost for interruptions with neither side looking as though they're going to manage a score of over 150 and there not be a problem with the pitch?
He's a proper batsmen too, which WILL work in his favour. Especially as the 2nd spinner who may need to do a bit more than just bowl if he doesnt bowl many overs.Rashid taking a bagful caught my eye today, after reading the thread on who the first debutant of the KP era will be. With a tour to India up next, I am sure the selectors will have their eye on him, rightly or wrongly. Haven't seen enough on him to comment, from what I've read on here he is not a Test bowler, but the selectors don't tend to take much notice of what gets said on CW
This is the first time he's taken a bag of any note all season. Good God you hope that doesn't get him picked for India. Yet more stupid impulsiveness it'd be.Rashid taking a bagful caught my eye today, after reading the thread on who the first debutant of the KP era will be. I said it earlier, but his case really does annoy me - here's a lad who's performed virtually every time he's stepped onto the field in his career, yet utter rubbish like Chris Whelan, Chris Wright, Mark Turner, Gareth Andrew, etc. have all played about twice as many games or more than he has.Adam Shantry gets his FC average down to 19.88 with his 27th FC wicket. With 2.9 wickets per completed game, he's no superduper star, but it is still pretty impressive.
After the Pattinson case no England supporter will be able to rest easy again for some time.Yeah, like I say I personally wouldn't pick him just for one haul, but, y'know, stranger things have happened
Check again.Ha! You've removed Chris Wright from that list.
This is a huge problem at both domestic and ODI level - selectors going for players who look like they can be effective instead of players who have proven that they are effective.I can't speak for the others, but people like Mark Turner have some pace and bounce about them and this is probably why counties favour them as they consistently strive for a strike option who can spearhead the attack.
You know I really wonder if Shantry is similar to Davies - ridiculously underestimated and oft-injured.BTW, Davies finishes with match figures of 10/45 - WOW.
Indeed, but perhaps he just doesn't churn out the performances for the 2nd XI.This is a huge problem at both domestic and ODI level - selectors going for players who look like they can be effective instead of players who have proven that they are effective.
He's a talent damit!Check again.
