Are you suggesting Minor Counties playing each other once or twice, and over how many days?

Remember these sides are largely amateur, and the players need time off work to play [and travel - hence why Lincs v Devon isn't good] - any more than the current status quo (6x3day games) is unviable, and professionalism is not an option as there is not the funding available.

Lincolnshire are planning (okay, it's pretty embryonic right now) a Riverside-style stadium development on the North side of Lincoln - if this is completed then there is an argument for their membership - but it's not something the ECB should bankroll.

you have got a point there. maybe regional division but should now be in 4 groups of 5 with 8x 2day matches plus Playoffs

Worcestershire won division two last year... so logic tell me that under any System, they should be in the Top division

And relegate the team that didn't get relegated. Not bloody likely.

And there's no point in going back to two-day matches.

Neil you only have a problem what that is because it mensions Worcestershire

what is wrong with two day Grade Style cricket

I have a problem with it because it's patently unfair on the side who finished sixth in Divison One.

It's too short for minor county games. I'd love to see much more use of it in the Club leagues by all means, but how is two-day cricket superior than three-day cricket in terms of being the format for what you basically propose as Divisions 4, 5 and 6?!

you right perhaps 3 day matches then?

What else do you think is a better idea then the second division champions going into the top division if this took place

Three-day games are working perfectly well as it stands.

Well, it's not rocket science, but the top six from the "Old" First Division remain in the "New" First, the teams finishing in the promotion/relegation spaces into the "New" Second and the remainder into the "Third".

well it raining again.... it wil be a poor summer
Bit morbid Chris, it is after all only April 28th and technically we aren't even in the summer part of the year.

Though I won't deny that is very frustrating. It appears to raining wherever Englishmen want to play cricket at the moment.

It's impossible to predict anything with any accuracy any more than 24 hours in advance (heck, you can even get that totally wrong (hurricanes!)).

You not remember Sunday, when it was bright and sunny the whole country across? (Well, I can guarantee it was in Lincs, Notts, Leicester, Birmingham, Warwicks, Worceseter, Gloucester, Somerset and Devon, anyway).

FWIW, I reckon we're in for another good summer.

Has anybody seen Scott Newman of Surrey bat?

He's caught my attention with a good start he has had, I hope he can continue it.

You heard it here first, folks. The West Indies has had foul, wet weather, alpine regions have had cold, snowy weather - but in England, we're going to have Hinton weather.
