Aus bowling attack is just too good/relentless these days. Spicier pitches in Aus over the last few years as well. Babar and Williamson have struggled a bit against Aus recently as well.

He's finally got more 100s than the rest of Fab 4. 4 years ago him and Williamson were trailing Smith and Kolih.
think Smith is on the downslide at 35, Kholi im not sure. Williamson and Root are the younger of fab 4 and both seem to be getting better at converting 50's to 100's. imagine if Williamson played for the big 3, he'd probably challenge Sachins records.

why doesnt Root bat at 3?

KW and Root are still at their peak, the other two have definitely dipped below theirs. I'd be surprised if Smith plays internationals much longer, probably the next Ashes as his swansong.

He usually comes in against the new ball with how terrible our openers are against the big 3 nations away from home, he may as well be an opener.
