Excited to see Turner and Bethell, expecting this to be Hull’s first match(es) for England, interesting that Carse is back essentially as soon as his ban ended

Missed Dan Mousley, let’s see some more 75mph spinners! Atkinson and Brook being given partial rests, Joe Root being rested completely, good that he’s still in the plans, still a few more ODI series before the Champions Trophy

Can’t read much into the T20 squad as any Test players were never playing that series, but only five of the players in the ODI squad went to the WC, and that includes Carse who was an in-tournament replacement. Reboot in progress.

Surprised to see neither Rehan nor Hartley there.

He is still performing, but it’s interesting that Rashid is still there, is he going to be around for the next World Cup?

I think theres 7 seamers cos theyr unsure how many will be fit by 9/11 ;)
Surprised smith doesnt make both squads, i assume he'll be playing as a batter only.

 In all seriousness, I’d like to see as many of them get a chance as possible, especially Hull and Turner (not their first call-up, so I don’t imagine they’re just around to carry drinks). Would imagine Smith would be in both squads if he weren’t playing in the Test, everyone in the Test squad has been given at least a partial rest

State Vice-Captain
I am interested in seeing some of the new picks go, although I'm mystified that Buttler has been kept on as captain. He strikes me as somewhat of a delicate flower. He didn't seem to take kindly to criticism of his tactics at the 50 over world cup and his performances with the bat have hardly been stellar in international cricket in the last year or so either.

carse's inclusion is bizarre based on a mix of him not being very good and coming off a betting ban. not a great look that he's fast tracked straight back into the squad.
