*Official* England Tour of West Indies 2019

Find it weird broad is on a golf course. He seems the kind of bloke normally who would like to be there supporting but mayb this decision has really rubbed him up the wrong way

You get the feeling the winning chases in this list will be surpassed soon enough.

Notwithstanding the trend towards low totals in the last 12 months, you wouldn't put it past England to chase down 350 on a third day pitch.

Jonathan Agnew's reporting of Stuart Broad's health for this match has been some of the weirder cricket journalism I've come across, especially for someone who seems so normal.

Lot of hindsight team selection on this thread without many people willing to lambast the decision before the start of the Test. I’m not suggesting they got it right, but our batsmen need to do what they’ve been picked for a dam sight better than they did in that first innings so we can actually make a balanced verdict on whether the composition of the side was correct.

Campbell's shot against Stokes' short wide one is an all-time bad dismissal. Try leaving or cutting it, not pulling it (with your eyes apparently closed for part of the deal) from nearly three feet outside off.

Pretty sure there was some lambasting as soon as that ridiculous attack was named.

Why blame the bowling during a batting collapse though. Swapping Jennings with another mediocre opener would’ve made no difference.

Broad for Rashid is the only real blunder here.

Roach surely would have to be up there now as the best Caribbean fastman since the golden era finished. Been around for a while now, still effective despite having to recover from a career threatening shoulder injury, had to adjust and evolve his style of bowling a fair bit but has done that excellently

Yeah a fair bit of dissapointment and mediocrity there, only four pacers averaging less than 30 and three of them are playing in this test.

The other is Jermaine Lawson, I still remember him well. He bowled absolute lightning against Aus in that series over in the Caribbean, looked like a real fearsome proposition. Shame a combination of injury and issues with his action prevented him from ever truly kicking on

What is it with the Windies and England? Every time they play anyone else they look garbage (even managed to draw a test series against Sri Lanka at home), but bring in the pommes and all of a sudden they start playing like a proper team. Really hope they don't mess this up, it'd set the series up beautifully.

This is their strongest team though

Lol not playing broad on this pitch must be one of worst calls of this decade. Anyone hitting the wicket hard looked a nightmare.

Not entirely fair I think. WI have done well in some other series as well. Were better than most visiting teams in the UAE.

They do seem to do better against England though for some reason.

England seem to save up a batting capitulation for every visit to the Caribbean. It's almost tradition now.

Saying that, it was really, really high class bowling and apart from Moeen's fend (and Jennings, but we know he's useless), I didn't really see any noticeably poor shots or terrible technique on display.
