*Official* England Tour of West Indies 2019

Excellent first session for us. Well done guys.

Campbell did exactly what he does in FC cricket. Excellent start against incisive seam bowling and an aggressive start against spin before getting himself out sweeping.

Good first session from WI. A typically patient effort from Brathwaite, as it should be on the first morning of a Test when facing up to a new ball. Campbell on the other hand batted with a little more freedom, but really just put away the loose balls he got, a steady opening innings from him.

As for England’s bowling, Jimmy predictably on the mark giving very little away, not excessive swing but sufficient to keep him interested. Curran lacked any real threat with the new ball, Stokes one too many freebies but plenty of encouragement for him. Moeen got the breakthrough but nothing too much to excite him, and a decent couple of overs from Rashid before the break.

WI bat pretty deep, good from these two. Looking fairly comfortable ATM.

I like that they are rotating the strike against Rashid. The runs are ticking by makes it even so much better. Good cricket and chemistry by these two.

Patience required and being shown by both sides at the start of this session. Not much happening off the pitch and a hint of shape, nothing more, through the air. England trying to build some pressure through dot balls and accurate bowling from both Jimmy and Rashid, WI content at this stage with the odd single off Rashid, which team can hold their nerve for longest ?

Two super shots from Hope off that Jimmy over, made a mess of his figures, now up to 14 runs off his 14 overs!

Had a chuckle at this on the BBC's coverage:

Samit Patel talking about Stuart Broad in the Caribbean reminds me of one of my favourite cricket stories.

Graeme Swann recounts it in his autobiography - Luke Wright and Stuart Broad came down with food poisoning before the infamous Stanford T20 match in Antigua and so didn't train one day.

Patel claimed to have been stricken too so also missed training, only for the England squad to return later and bump into Patel coming back from the hotel shop with a bag full of Bounty bars.

Patel said he couldn't keep any other food down...
