Well played. But why on earth did the selectors think Curran should play given his performances in the WC? Absolutely useless in this format which we all knew full well a month ago. I know we're struggling to find opening bowlers for this side, but sticking with a proven dud really isn't smart.

He is the classic case of someone who knows he can make a small fortune playing the T20 franchises so the rest of his game has gone to pot.

Surely Tongue or Turner plays in the remaining games.

Quite possibly, but he hasn't taken part in anything other than T20 or the Hundred for a while now.

As i suggested earlier, there's not much point in Tongue and Turner being in the squad if they don't get a game after this.

Fair play to the W Indies and a great knock from Shai Hope but we fell apart in the last 15 overs or so.

325 should have been plenty and we were well on course at 213-5 but we somehow contrived to let them back into the game with some horrible bowling from Carse and Curran.

Another horrible morale sapping defeat to start our new era of ODI cricket.
