Nah man. WI did beat SA last year & run Australia VERY close. So although im pissed as hell, you oughta give the windies due credit.

This test is likely gone already, but once Bell & Panesar (epsecially are dropped) i expect England to step up since WI batting & team in general still has MANY holes.

Well if you look at it like this:

Pieterson - Unplayable delivery
Strauss - Great delivery across the left-hander. Got the nick.
Colly - Great inswinging delivery
Prior - Great slower ball through the gate
Broad - Bounce and turn

None of the wickets happened because of false shots.

Beefy has changed his tune quick. On the 1st day of the test, the mood in the English camp was great, no problems according to Sir Ian but now everything has to be changed. :sleep:

...except there's no one competent enough or significantly better to replace those players. Kinda like the position Australia are in. Funny, because other sides don't seem to have similar problems, and SA are bursting with talent waiting to get in.

Well the replacements can't be that much worse in all honesty.

You're off your rocker if you think England is comparable to Australia. One side is going through a transition phase where heaps of new generation players are getting a go, the other is stuck in 05, refusing to drop players who fail time and time again.

Well we don't really know whether they're competent enough til they play. Obviously there are no standout batsmen on the sidelines.

I don't like Shah but the slight chance he'll turn out to be a decent Test batsman is better than the proven waste of space Ian Bell.

Patel presumably will get a run at some point.

I am giving them credit. I am not an England supporter. And it is not simply down to the brilliant bowling in this innings, the entire English performance has been dismal and the team itself has been dismal for a considerable time. This should be a wake-up call for English cricket and the English media. it is time to stop saying "oh, the opposition played brilliantly" every time England lose/ struggle. the cause of defeat/struggle run far deeper than that.
