*Official* England in West Indies 2022

Yeah Solozano seems comfortable and like he has a half decent technique. Athanzae needs to use his feet a little more, but he has potential!
Right, but this pitch is playing horribly now...not favorable for the batsmen.

Stokes gets Dowrich with a peach of a delivery.

So I'm predicting 2-1 England. I think our bowlers will continue to bowl this England side out cheaply but I'm struggling to see how our batting line up can make runs even against this average England attack. I hope I'm wrong.

Not even fit enough to get on the park, how did he get selected for England while being so out of shape?
They could only leave out 2 seamers.

Though to be more serious it's not great if Robinson's already struggling to stay fit. Does he have past history of such issues?

No idea, but in the end, it was going to be odd if after all the fuss about leaving out 2 of our greats to bed in new players, if we had had Robinson, Woakes, Wood, stokes as our seamers not exactly new. Talk that Mahmood will play over Leach, as the one change, so yes Oakes does look a certainty.

As I've said before I'm against 5 seamers, no spinner despite the pitch. Just think all in all Foaked, Leach, Overton have spent plenty of time in our squads, it's really time for them all to get a full series and just see whether they are worthy of their places in these squads or if we should move on.

Saw on the Beeb's site earlier that Liam Norwell is in line for a call if Robinson is broken for the series.

Now I know Branderson was omitted for reasons other than form, but given Norwell is already north of 30 it seems almost wilfully perverse to continue their exile. It's not like he's a fire-breathing tyro in his early 20s.

Surely whatever point Strauss was trying to make has been made by their initial omission?

I'd need to know what the point he was trying to make ITFP, before I could decide, maybe he wants to show that we haven't got any bowling stocks as well as batting, if so picking Norwell would be right in line with it.

woakes, overton, wood and leach

all that hullabaloo about dropping your two greatest modern seamers only to leave out the new faces and pick the least inspiring bowling attack in the world

can't wait.

I was thinking about the Woakes selection earlier. I'm not sure what the plans are for him in the future? Even if he takes wickets with the dukes ball in the Caribbean, he is still not suitable for bowling with the kookaburra. So why is he playing if this is the big reset? It just seems odd.

That's terrible and a lot for Wood to do. Was hoping at least one from Fisher, Mahmoud, and Parkinson would get a chance.

What is the talk about the pitch?
