This is one of those moments when you really wish you had a proper wicketkeeper.
The balance of the team in the last two Tests really leant towards picking one too. Buttler didn't get out in either innings of this match but contributed only 38 runs anyway. Obviously you can't be changing your wicketkeeper every Test based on how many allrounders you're picking on the day, but it does stick out.

This argument is perhaps a stronger one for picking a front-line spinner.

We were always going to have moments like this with Jos learning his trade behind the sticks having made the decision to go for him - we all knew that - but it doesn't make it any less painful.

Game in the balance. Moeen can't get cut and pulled after the others have kept it tight. Good that the captain has faith in him though.

WI ahead. England should be whipping and riding Jimmy until he is bowled into the ground. There really isnt the time or runs for Jordan to bowl.

moeen's lacking a bit of penetration but surely england is partially to blame for having him as their prime spinner

Wanted to put a bet on a drawn series at the start but didn't get round to it because reasons. Will make it twice as painful if WI get this.

Root's bowling is what I'd describe as "lacking penetration". Moeen is bowling crap.
Yeah indeed. Moeen's problem is definitely not that what he sends down isn't threatening enough; it's that he's sending down a high percentange of absolute pies. Very different issue.

Lack of overs. Not really his fault he got injured and rushed back in.

Moeen's bowling too many pies. Too bad we didn't pick the even more part timer who has a problem of often bowling rubbish and getting smashed.

I miss Swann.
