The erratic Morkel did all right and he and Parnell gave the Protea attack more sting.

Good batting from AB and Amla.

If Parnell and Morkel realise their potential, SA will take some beating over the next few years as both have the ability to be better than Steyn

Of course, that is easier said than done

I'm a big fan of Morkel. Gets some absolutely crazy bounce. Remember him bowling looseners to Graeme Smith at mid-on during the Edgbaston test last year and Smith was catching them somewhere around his mouth.

It's cool to have bowlers like him around intl cricket.

(before someone brings up Harmison, I mean players that want to actually play for their country)

Woke up from my drunken excess' to see SA 40 for 3. If we get AB cheaply could almoast be game over.

Surprised to see Hawkeye showed that one clipping leg - at first glance it looked to me like it was a shocking decision - glad I'm not an umpire

Haa just loving how this average ENG ODI team has been performing beyond their ability in the last few months, long may it continue. Get Flintoff back & this team will be the best ENG ODI team since PAK 2000.

Boycs saying that Duminy's test place should be in question because he has a real problem with the short ball

Yea i reckon he does sort a does. Johnson & Siddle exposed it in SA earlier this year, but im not sure if its something that cannot be eradicated by Duminy though.

someone should tell him where the stumps are then. People seriously tend to forget that there is little point in constantly aiming at someone's mouth when the fact of the matter is as a bowler you need to at least threaten the stumps. Someone didn't tell Harmison that, and Morkel thus far in his career has pretty much followed in the same vein.

Fair to say England are due some performances from Anderson like this.

SA 1 for 2 off the last 5 overs. Heh.

I generally don't dislike too many Cricketers, but R. McLaren is one guy and I'm pretty pleased that he's started his career very slowly.

Picked a fantastic day to sit at home studying instead of watching SA v England.. Would never have thought I'd do that a few years back.. Weather closing in by the way but I don't think we're in for a washout

McLaren playing himself out of the side in his first full ODI series.

Excellent bowling from England. Strange from Smith to want to bat first at PE with such an early start but it isn't an 70 odd for 6 wicket. England is kryptonite to JP Duminy, very poor dismissal.

There is a quite a bit in this pitch for the bowlers but 84/7 is hardly looking very good and is probably not going to give the SA bowlers enough to bowl at unless Petersen can do something about this. Been quite impressed with Petersen so far this series to be honest.

Edit: What is deal with Petersen's domestic record? Seems to be a far better player than that.
