*Official* England in South Africa Thread

Yeah somehow I don't think Steyn will be much of a problem.

Out of curiosity, do all people from Somerset tend to be... LOUD?

I don't think killing Andrew Strauss would have done wonders for England's chances this match. Oh well, no harm done and four runs for it!

I'm going to go right ahead and say that this is the best partnership I have ever watched since Gilchrist and Langer back in '99.

Arrgh, and more than that, could the SA bowlers stop bowling so shite, line and length is frikking everywhere!

South Africans seem to hate him quite a bit. They've been giving him a bit of lip on the field! He just stands there, takes it smiling and lets his bat do the talking.

Thanks once again to Pratyush - he did it in the first Test, and history is beginning to repeat itself here.

It really is a huge compliment when a side starts hating you after 1 and a half Tests against them. You're either playing good cricket or sledging really well.

A look at his series stats suggests it's the former.

He's actually only 60 away from making his 1000 Test runs already.

And if he does that he'll only be behind Bradman in the list of names reaching 1000 runs in the fewest Tests.

You'd have to say that the game is level again now, unless the pitch deteriorates you would have to say a draw is odds on though.

The longer we can keep them out in the field the better though, as there is only a few days in between this and the next test

Yeah, thanks Pratyush.

Feeling a little bit humbled?

It's only day three!!! If England batted until late tomorrow they could still hope to bowl out SA!

I wouldn't say the game was level, England are 30 ahead and SA have to bat last which even if the pitch doesn't deteriorate (why wouldn't it in 30C+ heat?) is still more difficult. That's without factoring in England's superior bowling attack and the momentum and the fatigue factor.

The fatigue factor is a big one for mine... even when (if? :p) one of these guys gets out, they've done a hell of a number on all of the bowlers.

Trescothick moves past 1000 Test runs for the second consecutive year.

Now if they can see off the new ball burst, what's the betting they're still around by the close?
