This actually is very reminiscent of Cook c. 2013. Aimless, timid, slow. No control over the game, no clear idea what he's trying to achieve.

Just came in here to ask if anyone else had doubts about his captaincy. Evidently it's a thing.

Just seems to be very formulaic and by the numbers. Almost like he's just auto simming being in the field because he prefers batting.

Those new ball overs at the end of the day were quite something. I really cannot think of having seen such a thing before! Not from 270/5 after 80 overs.

What a great day that was, would have taken that at the start of play and we have plenty of batting to come so can be looking at 450+ from here which will look daunting to the out of form Saffas.

Good day in the end. We aren't hugely on top but good first hour tomorrow can set us up. One of these two has to ton up (both obviously would be ideal) in order for us to really get a big score but 420 should be very gettable from here.
